I see no reason why Steve should be held accountable in any sort of way... why is he to blame?

Whether he made a mistake, the teleprompter is a mistake, doesn't change who the true winner was.

On first glance I didn't even see miss Philippines. Your eyes are naturally drawn to the left side of the paper because that's how we read.

Why would it be a good idea to put the winner in the bottom corner nowhere near the other contestants

I think the format on how they usually announce it is:

that means ________ is Miss Universe,

and Steve messed up that order by annoucing the winner first.

But I could be totally wrong.

Hearing about this, I figured they corrected the mistake within a few seconds.  

I had no clue she celebrated for a good 3 minutes or so.  Makes it that much more hilarious.
