Ok So I want to get a student loan but I have a couple of questions before I get it. Can anyone please help me out.

I want to take out a loan for about $900 just for living expenses like food, weekend money, etc. Is it possible to take out a "studnet" loan for that?

How much will that $900 turn into after I graduate? ( I dont want it to double on me or anything)

Can I get a loan at anypoint of the school year? Like 3rd week of school take out a loan?

How long does it take to recieve the money and how do they pay you?

I only have about 1,300 so far of studnet loans and im going into my sophmore year. Thats pretty good right? j

What is a good amount to graduate with as far as loans go? I want to stay under 5k

most private lenders have a minimum loan request of 1000 or 3000.

go talk to your financial aid office, im sure they'll be able to help you out more than we can.

I dont know if all schools do this..

But my school posts the money for loans into my student account first. From there they pay off my debts then distribute. I don't think you can get a loanwhenever you want but I'm not sure. And as far as what you spend it on.. Once it's yours, It's yours. You can buy anything you want with it. Justknow you have to pay them back eventually.

At my school (UW) you can take out a loan for any amount at any time in the year. You do a short and almost comical application online and the money magicallyappears in your bank account. The payments and interest are deferred until a year after your graduate and even then the rate is low (1%-3%) but this is alsowhy so many kids commit suicide when they realize they are in 20K+ debt.
