Substitute To Shower Shoes?

I'm a college student with little money and I need a temporary substitute to shower shoes until I can get to the store to buy some new ones. My past onesgot ruined in a flood. Anyone have any ideas? So far all I've come up with is plastic bags, and those did NOT work well at all tonight. Please someone giveme a good idea!

The water wasn't all to clean and it left them smelling like crap (the flood water was from a toilet, maybe thats why they smelled like crap).
