Switching to wifi?

I'm switching all our computers and a couple printers upstairs to Wifi.
What all do I need, and what any recommendations?

I know I need a router, what's a good one to get?
Also in my desktop I think I'm going to need a network card because my motherboard doesn't have one. So what's a good one to use for that, and are there any that can use wifi and still have an ethernet port?

Anything else I need? When setting up the router do I need to call my ISP or anything like that?

It is....actually I don't need it for my desktop since it's not portable anyway.

I only need it for the laptops and printers. I'm getting a tablet soon too so that and being able to actually move the laptops around are the main reason why I'm getting it.

It's pretty much plug and play. I recommend Linksys, personally. Just continue to use ethernet for your desktop.

probably want to get a router from linksys, what djuzi05 recommend seems good
And for your desktop i think you might just have to buy a separate wireless adapter

Yes but i would only use it on a Xbox or PS3 since a better connection for video games is better. on a computer doesnt really matter unless well you wanna do it.

So basically just plug the router to the modem my ISP gave me? I want to keep using the ethernet router I already have too.

you just need to take the ethernet cable that you had plugged in from the modem to the desktop and plug it into wan port on the router and then get another ethernet cable(router might come with one) and plug it from the desktop into one of the number ports on the router
