Symbian vs. Android?

Android.

Nokia, and possibly some others, may take action that extends Symbian's lifespan, but ultimately, it's on it's way out... there's so much momentum behind HTC, and more generally Android that's it's likely to dominate the phone market for the forseeable future.... Unless Meego turns out to be something very special, and on it's first release that's fairly unlikely.


As for Maemo...... The N900 does some things well, and a few things it doesn't do so well. It's power lies in its' potential flexibility.
It's weakness lies in the fact that a few things require some tweaking out of the box....... it's one of those phones you have to be patient with.

Definitely agree with the flexibility part. I mean I can run Froyo on the N900, which is kinda cool. Requiring some tweaking out of the box is not a weakness of the N900. If it can be done, then there is no problem. The only weakness is the actual end-users that don't know how to tweak really.
