Temecula, CA - Anyone live there?

Thinking about moving from Sacramento to Temecula, but I've been trying to look up community colleges and it looks like the closest one from Temecula is around 40 minutes away. My girls family member wants us to move in with them, and I'm pushing for yes because their house is LOADED and it is amazing out here.

For those who live here, what's the catch with it? It seems like a hidden paradise or some ish but if it's too good to be true, it usually is. It's a huge decision and I want good info before I make a final call w/ my girl, but after being here for a little bit on my vacation, it seems perfect.

Doubt there's many (if any) NTers that live out here, but if you do, give me a quick rundown if you could.. thanks.

buddy lives there. it seems theres alot of nice houses there because the property is cheap as hell. also youre not too far from san diego. but it gets SUPER hot and kind of dull. but hey, socal right?

im from SF but moved to east LA. temecula is wayyyyyyy inland

There is not a darn thing to do there. I know housing is super cheap and the weather is super wack. I wouldnt recommend it unless you retired lol you'd probably spend a good amount of money on gas too

and Sac obviously isn't the Bay or LA but there's more than enough to do there to make Temacula seem like hell in comparison.

I used to live in Temec. The good. Close to San Diego, Palm Springs and L.A. Awesome golf courses. Housing is cheap. If you ride dirt bikes there is alot of areas to ride. A few tracks too. The bad. It does get hot. Some bad areas(alot of Meth in the inland empire) not much to do unless your into what I've mentioned above. SJCC (San Jacinto community college) is right there off the 15 maybe 10-15 minutes from the heart of Temecula.

Disneyland only about a hour away. Same with San Diego.

seriously, lots of bros out there with nothing to do.

you got lake perris around there the outlets in cabazon and casino morongo.

but yeah to do stuff no matter what you will end up driving at least 30 mins or a little more.

it gets hot and boring so just be prepared to do lots of nothing.

This pretty much. Look into Riverside. Better CC, cheap housing, closER to LA, beach, Disneyland, etc. and it's 30 mins from Temecula.

My cousin lives out there. The houses are nice, but there isn't anything to do around there. You are close to SD, and about 1-2 hrs away from LA. The weather during the summer is :x :x :x :x . But I wouldn't want to live there due to the fact that nothing is around, unless you go to Pala all the time.

I've been there a few times. It's alright I guess. Definitely cheap.

If you want to live in a boring *** city you might as well stay in Sacramento... *shrug*

Also, relocating like that into your girl's family's place is ALL BAD. I can't recommend you do that in good conscience. But if you have family of your own to move in with if **** went south then you might be alright.

I'm from Temecula as well. Lived there when we had only 15,000 people, no mall, bunch of skinheads, etc...
I currently live in Murrieta which is the city north of Temecula. Yeah skinheads were there back when I was in HS, but I don't see much anymore. Honestly there are more meatheads especially since team quest is here, lol. Pros are you are an hour from OC, an hour from SD, hour and a half from LA, safe communities, not much traffic outside the Winchester on/off ramp at interstate 15 during rush hour. There are wineries, Pechanga Casino, a few golf courses, a mall, an outlet center 15 min drive up the freeway, bunch of mma gyms along Jefferson St including team quest, some nice trails to MTB, hike, or dirt bike and its a nice town to raise a family.
Cons are, it is your typical suburb, lol.

The house we'd be in is literally right next to Pechanga Casino.

MMA gyms sound nice because I need to find a new gym to train at once i move down here and i was hoping there'd be decent ones.

For those saying don't move in w/ her fam,
1.) we live together already in the same room as our two friends on two different beds.
2.) we're going to have to work 4 jobs just to stay in sacramento and have our own apartment. They are not cheap in Natomas.
3.) her "family" is her step grandma who is thai (if anyone knows about true thais, they are extremely giving and nice) and her step grandmas two kids (one around my age and one younger)

if hes currently living FOUR PEOPLE TO ONE ROOM, I dont think his budget will allow for him to just pick up and move to SD or even LA unless he wants to live in the hood.

Temecula has wineries, Pechanga Casino, and then like one main hub of chain stores... and then nothing surrounding it. LA and SD are an hour away... and you better get used to it because you basically gotta travel to one of those places if Temecula doesn't have what you need. There's like an outlet 30 min away

Hard to compare it to Sac. Because Sac is an actual city with different areas in it. Temecula is one area and it's not very good and there aren't really any other areas that are close.

Unless your about to retire, otherwise, you're gonna be spending all your money on gas driving back and forth to LA or SD
