Texas State Fair appreciation thread

if you live in texas or have been to the state fair..once in your life .
what is your opinion about it.

i go every year and tend to pig out all the time and spend about 150 while im there.

over all it is the biggest fair in america. so lets see what ya gotta say .

I go every year too, usually for the Classic. Lots of good food and crazy food. Fried Bacon FTW!

Yea Oprah was here at the fair today. i think they did the Mike Tyson on Oprah taping here in dallas too.

Ive been living here in dallas since 2000 and i still havent hit up the state fair

I hear they got fried everything even fried butter

but yea i was gonna go today but didnt, saturday is my last attempt until next year

other than food what else they got?

Ive lived in Texas my whole life and have never been but I def plan too in the near future. Probably next year since I plan on moving too so it would beeasiest to go then.

I hate fairs...too country for me. Back home I lived a mile away from our county fair and now I live a block away from ourstate fair (Ohio) so yea....I'm tired of them by now.

Born and raised in Texas and I have never been to the state fair.

I remember watching Bizzare Foods when they did a tour of Texas and they went the state fair. I think they had fried coca-cola and some other crazyconcoctions.

When i was a kid i would go wayyy too much...and it didnt help that DISD would give you a free day of school and a free ticket to go again...If youra Texan you have to go atleast once in your life to the State Fair. All the food will drive ya crazy...fried bowels fo sho.

To me though, the best tasting thing there is the funnel cakes. I moved awayfrom Dallas in 06, so i havent been able to go since

...im ashamed...

i use to go to the fair every other year as a kid. my family would mostly go on the saturday of the Grambling/PV game. i don't remember what all i ate backthen or what all i got into, but i do remember having fun. i've missed the gram/pv game already, so i'll be there this weekend if the clouds permit.
