I know, he was the longest tenured player here being that him and KD go back to the Sonics days, and perhaps (likely) it was some type of thing thinking that signing him would influence KD, but damn 4 mil per while averaging career lows across the board in 16mpg and 7 DNP CDs! That's a tough pill to swallow, furthermore, when the team is already in the tax, and hamstrung to make moves as a result of that, being cheap, being not a free agent destination, and having committed more guaranteed money and roster space to bums like Josh Huestis, Grant Jerrett.

Nick is a vet minimum signing at best, chunk him a few extra million for loyalty and being a nice guy and being white in Oklahoma (he is aggressively Blue though if you read about him and his opinion on things like guns), I give him 6 mil over 2 at best but still no reason to do it right now. It just further kills any small chance we may have had to better the team this season and next offseason, no way you can make a Lopez trade now for example
