Doc's family is the NBA version of the Kardashians. Might as well give him a show and bump off Kenny Smith.

are these two as close as the Morris twins? I think it doesn't help them that they were not 1st round picks, so demanding to be on the same team isn't reasonable.
My twin and I are super close. Mater of fact we spent the first 26 years of our lives together until yesterday when I moved away. It sucks.

Niketalkers, I'm in Brooklyn for the day. Where is the best place to play ball around here, and what time? I was looking at possibly playing at the Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Yeah just go there. It's pretty dope. The first court is full court if you nice enough for that

I'll be out there, but what time should I go? Some people told me to get there kinda early at like noon-1PM.

Bargnani on a 2yr deal for the minimum is not bad at all considering he's a stretch big.

The earlier the better. It gets pretty packed. Especially on a day like today

So if I get out there at like 12:30 should I be straight, or am I gonna be like 5 games back already?

Probably like two games back. Im strictly talking about full court though. But there's a bunch of courts so you won't just be standing around

Damn he's only 25 lol not even in his prime yet. Waste of a talent man he was good to

Kanter only played 10 games with Ibaka, so all those "awful defensive numbers" are from when he was the defensive anchor of the team, which was a major mistake in the first place...

You are going to discount his atrocious performances in Utah as well?

You're going to ignore that he is historically bad?

That's not what I said. What I said is, the sample size of him playing with Ibaka was not enough to determine everything. Utah has been an awful team and Gobert is just now developing. I personally believe that OKC can mask his defensive struggles, just not when they don't have other defenders on the floor

I know that's what not you said.

I posed a question to you.

Utah paired him with Gobert and Derrick Favors,

he was still terrible.

This lollipops and gumdrops idea that a historically bad defensive player, at a position which defense is most important, is going to miraculously become acceptable on the defensive end when paired with certain personnel is outright ridiculous.

agreed that logic is ridiculous.

I remember Matt Moore bringing up the "he only played 10 games with Ibaka" argument because that's the first thing people say when defending Kanter. Its that argument and the "he's only 23 years old" argument. :lol

I think I've seen this mentioned before, but there are more cons to paying Kanter than max than pros. The best thing OKC can hope for is getting good value for him via trade in the future because there is a high chance he's not seeing the floor late in big games. There is also a greater chance he's getting tore up in the paint he's on the floor against good teams. I'm guessing OKC is hoping he can put up enough points to justify all of that.

Ibaka got injured vs the clippers right before the western conference finals two years ago.. Then got hurt in season last year

Collison is going be 35 in October

Having kanter, Mitch and Adams allows us to rest guys so no one has to play a ton of mins.. And gives us options if the worst happens and someone gets hurt

And I don't want us using Durant at the 4 until the playoffs anyways.. If we can keep kd, Westbrook and ibaka as close to 30 mins as possible, I'll be happy

Allow our depth to carry us through the regular season

So, let's say Ibaka gets hurt again...does playing Kanter more minutes keep OKC in contention? I feel like that makes them even worse from a defensive standpoint and if your defense is not top 10, the chances of you winning a title is less likely. MOST big rotations go 3 deep. And I'm sure you will see a lot of KD at the 4 as well. I just don't understand the "rest" factor as if we are talking about Ibaka, McGary and Adams being 30+ years old :lol . To me, more minutes for Kanter means less defense. Less defense against elite teams means more L's.

What was the point of giving Collison a 2 yr deal worth $8M to be your 5th big? Unless they are going to make McGary a bench warmer next season.

Ibaka gets hurt.. I think we start Mitch or collison.. And we still have Adams, so we would still heavily rotate our bigs

That doesn't necessarily mean we would play cantor more.. Maybe we use the small ball more depending on when the injury occurs

And playing 82 games is tough on anyone.. If we can use our depth so no one on the team has to log 35+ mins per night, that would be great for the main guys come playoff time

For me, I look at the Warriors last year as an example..

Steph 'only' played 32.7 mins per.. And Klay (31.9) and draymond (31.5) were the only guys over 30 per

Hopefully we use our depth to overwhelm teams.. Between guys playing fresh because of limited mins or simply having better players on the floor for the full 48 mins

Make the marathon a relay
