Man, that Austin Rivers mixtape made it look like this fool was about to be a stud for real.
i really thought josh selby was the next steve francis
wut
The LeBron comparisons for Wall were abundant
Everyone around my way was giving those comparisons, but mostly the cats who overhype just about everybody
I don't think that's what's going on here at allPeople blaming Hoopsmixtape for producing mediocre nba players?
I guess Slam magazine was to blame for Sebastian Telfair never being the guy.
Or ESPN was to blame for allowing OJ Mayo's games to be on tv
Or the 20/20 interview is to blame for Tyson Chandler never being the best center in the nba.
Everyone of us is guilty from time to time over evaluating a players talent. But if they don't become what we (people who aren't even scouts) expect its their fault or genetics fault. I can't blame a dude with a video camera.
Yessir!!! Reminds me of my HS Colors
yay or nay?
Absolutely.Everyday it grows more and more obvious how little people grasp how big of an accomplishment making the NBA is. Let alone being an effective player.
Nah I'm drinkingrck byke!?
Where do you actually watch high school prospects tho besides mixtapes? I always see guys on here talking like they scout every game from 9th grade on but are those games even available?
Besides that, if you haven't had a chance to view these prep players in a real game, you would think you would take a highlight reel with a grain of salt. If you haven't seen a kid play in a real game, your view of him is limited. Should be obvious but maybe notWe have access to HS games at our fingertips more than ever. With ESPN U, ESPN 3, streaming live games, and all the Tournaments these guys play...watching HS ball players is no mystery at all.
