The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games Thread 🔥🥇🥈🥉

My bad but I forgot the USA girls name, when is she running?

Sha'Carri Richardson? she's suspended.

There was a German and a Swiss girl who surprised me on the 100 heats lol

Definitely a surprise for casual watchers. Regular T&F viewers it wasn't a surprise. Both, especially the Swiss (Ajla Del Ponte) have been on the come up the past few years. Del Ponte has the potential to be a big star.

swiss women 4x100 relay team might be a silver or bronze threat

If its a clean race, they'll be a threat for bronze. But Jamaica, USA and Great Britain are the 3 favourites.

The German Olympic Sports Confederation on Thursday said Patrick Moster, sporting director of the German Cycling Federation, "violated Olympic values" with his remarks.

Moster was cheering on German rider Nikias Arndt, who was trailing Amanuel Ghebreigzabhier of Eritrea and Azzedine Lagab of Algeria during a time trial, when he used a racial slur.

"Get the camel drivers!" Moster shouted multiple times to Arndt, Deutsche Welle reported.

He later apologized for the comments.

"In the heat of the moment and with the overall burden that we have here at the moment, my choice of words was not appropriate," Moster said to Germany news agency DPA. "I am extremely sorry and can only offer my sincere apologies. I didn't want to offend anyone."

Arndt distanced himself from Moster, saying he was "appalled" by the coach's comments.

"Such words are not acceptable," Arndt wrote in a statement, according to Deutsche Welle.

"The Olympics and cycling stand for tolerance, respect and fairness," the cyclist added. "I represent these values 100% and take my hat off to all the great athletes who have come from all over the world here in Tokyo."

Deutsche Welle reported that commentator Florian Nass expressed shock when hearing the remarks in real time.

"If I've really understood what he was shouting, that was totally wrong," Nass said. "Words fail me. Something like that has no place in sport."

Heat of the moment 😂😂

These people kill me. "Thats not the real me, i was just caught up in the moment" 😂 ya ok buddy.

Surprised France didn't qualify for the men's 4x100m medley final.

im more surprised with the US qualifying second to last

but that’s great for them for the final, since they’ll have open water next to them and will be out in front from the jump in the final

Christen Press playing with her sleeves rolled up never seen a pro do that in a match before.

This only is confirming everything I’ve heard about this dude which then ends up playing out in his races beyond just 50s

of course he decides to not follow rules or even show respect in another country

Always cool seeing Bruce Lee's... esp with Team China.
What an ending to that game tho.

Michael Andrew what a douchebag good thing he flopped in his race.

Shame about the Dutch losing in the women's football they played well in the group stage.

this dude has had all the talent in the world from when he was young as hell, to the point that he went pro young with the thoughts of being the next phelps

but his dad has been his only coach.. and I think his dad wasn’t even a coach prior to coaching his own kid

then he does this specialized training where everything is a race or race paced

hell you could just look at his stroke and see how changes need to be made to increase efficiency.. but I’m sure he’s been told or heard he needs a legit coach and simple shh he could/should be doing

but like this virus and the vaccine, society on the whole is being told simple things and yet are having a hard time listening to advice that is for their own good

problem is, team USA needs him.. until a guy comes along that can be 58 low or best case 57 high in the 100 breast, they need him for the medley relay

but dude needs to move on from his dad and just get better advice on his technique and his race strategy.. and if he’s going swim beyond 50s, needs to change his training

Dressel going walk in this 50 free, what he went in the prelims probably would win the gold by .2

he was 21.32 in the prelims and I assume he’ll be sub 21.1 in the final

silver is going be max 21.4.. probably 21.5

Xennial Xennial the girl who Australian women should have had on the 4 x 200, 17 year old who went 1:55.1 on the leadoff of there prelims was

“17-year-old Mollie O’Callaghan anchored in a blazing 52.3. That is actually faster than one flying start leg from Australia’s 4×100 free relay that won Olympic gold and set the world record earlier this week. And outside of Australia, a 52.3 would have been the fastest split on all but two other relays in that final.”

“O’Callaghan in particular was a star, lowering the World Junior Record on the lead-off leg in 1:55.11—a time that would’ve been fifth in the individual 200 freestyle, and faster than Madi Wilson or Leah Neale had ever been.”

IATT IATT you know what happened to schooling after winning gold in Rio? Also those other longhorn swimmers Conger and Smith? Seems like only Haas didn't get completely washed

conger should have switched to the 2 free, but I don’t know what his thinking is/was

hell given how good he is at the 2back, 2free and 2 fly.. he’d be better off trying go after the 2 IM

i think for schooling he had that goal and that was driving him, he accomplished it in spectacular fashion.. and then I assume he started taking his foot off the gas.. There were stories of him missing practices or not practicing hard that next year at texas and it showed in his 200 fly and I assume it just got progressive wors… I know he got paid out by the government and then he got sponsor deals over in Asia

Watching this rowing and they just said there was a rule change that allowed for a female coxman.. and Australia is the first to do it

kinda surprised, would assume for weight purposes more teams would take advantage of that
