The College Basketball Post

good game, I don't know what that play was,

I never like a post up at the end of a game, too easy to collapse on a guy unless they are kareem abdul jabbar.

Taylor on Texas is real, really good for a freshman.

On another note, has there been another time where a squad had two guys that could potentially go #1 like Wiggins/Embiid?

I know UK had AD and MKG go 1/2 but MKG was never considered for that 1st spot.
Two tandems come to mind

1979: Kesler and Magic

1984: Jordan and Perkins

One could make a case for 79 if Wiggins drops to 3 or 4. Everyone knew the dream was going #1 in 84

Texas tech hitting Tough shots.

Bill Self's love of Perry Ellis is the reason Kansas wan't win the national championship.
What do you mean by that? ....Ellis played his worst game of the season tonight if you are saying he is not a good player and Self relies on him too much. Has been KUs most consistent player on the offensive end up until tonight...(not very good on D though)

Man, I can't wait for these conference road games to be over. Every single one in the Big 12 (other than TCU) is tough and nerve wracking for KU.

Great job by Wiggins in the second half to be aggressive and look to drive...got KU the win tonight.

they post him up too much, having both embiid and ellis posting at the same time on two sides on the court, it constricts the spacing on the court it makes it tough for the permiter guys to penetrate.

they feature him way too much on offense, this team has too much talent to do that, he should be a stretch 4, who posts when embiid is out.

I also don't think he can score against big time defenders.

im guessing this is how bill selfs offence has always worked, either way I never like posting two guys at once like self does constantly.

edit

in fact his presence has prevented them from going embiid wiggins 4/5 which i think would be devastating.

the dirty secret is wiggins was always best when he played 4 in aau and high school, and when the game mattered he ALWAYS played 4.

Eh, I disagree. In terms of him posting up too much...probably just seems like it because teams play zone against KU so much so you have Embiid and Ellis rotating from the block to the elbow..etc...

Feature him too much on offense? Other than tonight Ellis is typically good for like 15 and 8...He does play a stretch 4 sometimes, can hit down the midrange jumper and even a 3 here and there.

Scoring against big time defenders I could see being an issue because he isn't quick enough to get around them and not explosive enough to get a hook shot over them.

nah thats the set offence, they move to the high post when its a zone but the base set on offense involves guys pretty much on each block.

i think its dumb, I think ellis should on be spaced out to the 3 point line especially if embiid is in the game.

Self runs a bad offense for the roster that he has, watching Kansas struggle for 30 seconds every possession especially against zone gets hard to watch.

To be fair, they need more shooting, thought Selden was going to be a better shooter/player too.

Was able to catch up with Tyler Ennis on Saturday when Syracuse played NC State. Dude is LIVING the life out there. YAMBS everywhere. Probably his worst game that I've seen him play in the last 5 years. But he deserves some slack with the way he's been playing all season.

Anyway, here are a few photos I took from the baseline:
