The College Basketball Post

Pat Forde:
The NCAA men's basketball rules committee took a big swing at fixing what ails the sport, announcing an array of proposed alterations to the way the game is played. This no longer is a sport that seems terrified of change.

Pending expected approval from the men's basketball oversight committee, the key changes are these:

• Reducing the shot clock from 35 seconds to 30.

• Reducing the number of second-half timeouts by one for each team; eliminating coaches calling live-ball timeouts; reducing the amount of time to replace a player who has fouled out; and adjusting media timeout procedures.

Allowing teams a total of 10 seconds to advance the ball past halfcourt, even if a timeout is called.

• Expanding the restricted arc under the basket from three feet to four feet.

• Penalties for faking fouls (i.e., flopping).

• Most importantly, a renewed enforcement of rules that limit physical play.

That's a lot. And it's all needed. Badly needed.

Yes reduced and adjusted timeouts !!!
Does this mean if you call TO in the back court and 7 seconds has gone by, you still only have 3 seconds and not an additional 10?

Just can't see it. Alma mater but not an elite job.
I'm not saying he would take the job, but he has expressed interest in the past.  I believe he is the second lowest paid NBA coach in a place like Phoenix that's not exactly a top job.

Could be completely wrong but maybe Vick to KU is a good sign for Swanigan to UK?

Could be...but, unless UK only has 1 scholarship left (which they could, I really don't know), I don't see how they could be correlated.

I don't really know either :lol Jerry Meyer tweeted that Swanigans recruitment hurt UK in regards to landing Vick,he was concerned that landing Swanigan would push Poythress to wing and cut down Vicks minutes or at least that's what I got out of it...

I didn't even realize Chris Boucher was Canadian.

Oregon has three now, Jamal Murray would make it 4. 8o
Murray is on visit at UK right now,a lot of folks saying he is staying in class of 16 though...UK leading the crystal ball slightly over Oregon if he reclasses to '15..... Cal the Magician about to pull Murray and Swanigan in the next couple days :smokin 8o

Is Murray even looking at Michigan anymore ?
I don't know if he is still officially still considering them but everybody is saying it's basically down to UK and Oregon with Syracuse being a super long shot...UK is trending pretty hard for him now and has a pretty big lead over Oregon in his 247 Crystal Ball..
