Lowkey they need to just stay on YouTube like 85 South.

Have Rory and Mal bring their individual content and just build the brand/JBP 'network' from there. YouTube and having read ads + monetization and things like merch/touring is enough. Upload eps to all DSPs. The end road dont always gonna be a partnership.

Wonder how he gon act when TIDAL do him the same way :lol:

Sound like they had a offer/inquiry from Tidal the first time around but Hov told them he wasn’t coming off data/analytics :lol:

I wonder how many subs Tidal really got now, they haven’t disclosed anything since like 2016

Tidal being behind a paywall kind of kills that, along with the ties to Jay-Z. And one of Joe's main point since the beginning of the pod in general is that there's way more ways to monetize outside of the merch/ads/shows.
 
They’ll be fine. Mal, Parks and Rory seems to trust him and I think Joe is in the right in this case so they’ll be alright
 
Are they still going to do two eps a week after the contract is up?

If they don’t have a deal lined up, he might as well start a subscription service of his own or go the patreon route. 2 a week, one free and one on patreon. It’s going to require more work tho. I just found but Schulz does this and he’s making 75k a month on patreon, not including sponsors and ad revenue. Assuming JBP’s audience is bigger, they’d kill on there. All these people talking about they ready to follow them wherever, guess it’s time to see.
 
I stopped listening to the show a few months ago but listend today cuz I thought it was the last episode on Spotify. Sounds like Spotify was constantly moving the goal post on them. He had number from his YouTube and and such but Spotify wasn’t giving him ALL the number to be used as part of the negotiations. Not unexpected from a big company but I’d be mad if I was Joe too.

I don’t think he expected Bill Simmons numbers. Also that call from Simmons while his dad was sick is crazy.

I gotta respect Joe for holding his ground. I wonder where they go next.

I watch a YouTuber that does that.

Goes live on YT once a week, uploads around once a week and puts most his new content on Patreon and puts it on main channel later.

That might be suicidal though because sometimes you wanna hear their take on something and I know I'm personally not adding another 'bill' to hear this **** :lol

They get all the rapper pods, Big Bank/Scream + 85 South for the southern demographic, Charlemagne and Ak...they might have something...

But we all know ****** not ready to move like that :lol:

TIP/Joe/Charlemagne alone hosting their **** on their own app with delayed YouTube would be a power move.

Im curious as to how Joe figure they generated 100 million dollars for Spotify, with no ads

If that’s the case Joe Rogan got lowballed, being that he has arguably the #1 podcast in the world. Something off.

Subscriptions and stock price jumping from a growing portfolio of successful podcasts.
 
They gave them the data to prove it. Plus it being steady #1 gave them the cash flow and confidence to go full force acquire other podcasts that will get much more. They definitely got used by Spotify but it's business.

Spotify stock has notoriously underperformed tho over the past 2 years, Dec 2018 that **** hit a all time low. I know because that’s when a few of my homies bought their **** :lol:

It peaked around July-Aug 2018 and been down since, until it peaked again when they announced the Joe Rogan **** back in May and it’s been up from there

It was the #1 Spotify exclusive podcast for a min, not the number #1 podcast on the app. Joe nem not beating out the NPR, True Crime podcasts etc they appeal to a way bigger demo i.e. white ppl :lol:
 
Of course, they've said that. However they still outperformed expectations. Analytics sees that spike in that category and is the catalyst for decisions going forward. Data runs the world now, kinda surprised how much Joe seems to understand that.

Im not arguing that they didn’t outperform expectations

My point was if Joe nem really generated a 100 MM without any ads, the 100 MM that Rogan just got is a lowball

Angela Yee said she heard Joe starting a network and launching some other pods, that would be a good look




This _ prolly wasn’t gonna re-up with Spotify anyway Joe ain’t low man :lol: :smh:
