The Combat Jack Show Thread

Somebody in here was talking about how Akademiks was wise to the death of radio and the shift to streaming and pods. This is a perfect example of how the radio is basically mocked now.

I think almost everyone knew he radio was going down. Now a lot of it is appealing to older people, who don't know about playlist, podcast and streaming.

It's like Guru talking about when in a meeting asking how are they going to sell records when everyone can get it for free.

a lot of people aren't in touch with tech and the youth, so they're slow to react. Like blockbuster not buying Netflix before they could throw nails in the coffin.

This goes back to a constant point i have to make on here, but social media & our little pockets of friends aren't representative of the whole population. There are still a large number of people who listen to radio & they are never gonna stop, if for no other reason than habit.

Drunk barbershop talk. Everybody’s thinking they’re right, and usually cats just end up arguing back and forth about nothing. :lol :{

Yayo is just one of them cats that overtalk people and if you don't know him, might take it as him just being obnoxious, disrespectful, etc, but once you know him, you realize it's just who he is. I know someone exactly like him. It might appear that he's being braggadocious(and he might be), but he's just talking. Math wanted to squeeze certain kinds of juice out of Yayo, but Yayo wasn't having it and decided to let the convo run his way.

I expected more based on that last Yayo vlad clip that was nothing at all.

9:29 mark....Math said " But you told Vlad everything" multiple times

Instead of being salty he just needs to step his game up.

Yayo and those caviar pancakes....he's grateful and trying to motivate but he sounds like he just started seeing money.

This. :lol

He’s been/should’ve been eating good for damn near 2 decades, so you’d imagine he’d be accustomed to the high life by now. But as I’m listening to the stories he’s telling, and the situations he made it out out, I get the sense that Yayo was one of the dudes who really didn’t think he’d make it out alive or free. Dude seems to really appreciate his place in life, so I can’t be mad at him for glorifying these damn caviar pancakes (which sound disgusting, for the record) :lol

Yea but I know damn well that can't be Joe's reasoning considering all the people he supports & quite honestly i was never mad about Rocky's stance. It really was just worded badly

but he essentially said he doesn't talk about those kind of topics because he isn't well versed enough or impacted by them enough to put it in the music. It would come across as forced.
Joe speaks in this on todays pod, right at this mark

One them n_ that hype up “rich” cuisine just because. Knowing most that s*** be trash.

Yayo done been rich/wealthy for over 15+ years. He need to stop.

Yayo must’ve been SUPERRRRRR dusty as a kid. One of them street n_ who never got real money. :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

He still cool though.

What’s the use of being a street n_ while you was young and you wasn’t getting money. We all know the type. At the peak of the cocaine epidemic in 70s, 80s, and 90s, a lot of them dudes were literally just in the streets. But, they weren’t getting any money.

Does Yayo have any childhood pics from his hustling days? Like 50 and street dudes? At least 50 looked like he touched a little money

Plus Yayo was Haitian right? Not sure if he got picked on for being Haitian as kid

Who is this Jay Hill dude? One of the more decent interviews i've seen, honest questions.

The interviewer is emotional dawg. Channing is trying to tell him it’s business, not personal and the dude is more concerned about if dudes are friends still.

Dudes got schooled by a female :lol :lol

Yeah, he sucked. He seemed like more of a fan. Like if someone was interviewing Joe or Rory/Mal and they kept dwelling on the past instead of the present.
