The Combat Jack Show Thread

I just hate when the discussion is flowing, going good…and somebody has some depth and in a groove….

And Math interrupts with a super goofy question, about chicks or some material ****. His timing is always off with that :lol. In the D Rose interview, Rose made sure to get back to everything he was trying to say.

I could see the tension/writing on the wall. But that was QUICK. Considering that pod really caught its stride fairly recently.

Everyone saw this coming with increased popularity of the show. Notice how this happens shortly after Math brags about HIS numbers.

You can't have a pod that people call Math Hoffa's pod that's based around five people. With him being the head, when others might have more connections and knowledge. Ego's are going to be involved.

Plus Math was messy and wants to talk about everyone else's drama and break ups, so it's karma.

At least Joe told Rory he was fired

They said Math was stalling on putting them on a contract, then didn't pay them(they had to go to his crib to get paid). They recognized that he didn't have much business acumen, so they were giving him space to figure it out, but it appeared Math was trying to use that time to also find out how he could snake them contractually.

I also noticed that Math has some weird obsession with the Game. He randomly brings up his name in a few of the podcasts.

He did indirectly. He talked about instead of talking about it, why don't you do something about it.

Which is what I've been saying. If you're really upset about the money, you can get a lawyer. It's been two years. Charge it to the game, get a lawyer or shut up.

I don't think this is about money, it's about Mal's feelings being hurt. Because originally Rory was the one upset and wanting to see the books, Mal was upset about Joe suspending Rory and wanting to record without him.

He talked about this on the Patreon episode today. Clipped 5 minutes for y’all where Joe explains the issue stems from them auditing him after the Spotify deal ended.

EDIT:

This basically sums up the 5-minute video :lol.

It's because the business isn't established at the beginning, because dudes aren't doing it for a check initially. It's done on the humble. Because we're friends, that's my man.

I think I said just last month I couldn't see it lasting much longer with increased popularity.

This is mainly about Spaceghost and how he left Flip for Math. I don't believe that, I was going to break him off and all he had to do was ask talk.

I swear some dudes don’t like money. I could care less about the acclaim or attention. Well getting money, but again, egos. That math dude definitely has an ego and superiority complex. You need a goofy dude like esso around to bring comedic value. I’m sure they weren’t trying to strong arm Math and get all the money.

Again, people just want to be compensated. I’m pretty sure math was lowballing dudes. He honestly seems like the type.

Ol’ Brandon Marshall funny style dude

Same situation with Iam Athlete. They started the during the pandemic, everybody was friends, then the money starts to come and it goes left.

I can understand naivety from younger people or dudes who aren't really in that space but Esso has been in/around the industry forever and has been apart of a podcast type thing called 8 at the table. Hynaken worked in media with This is 50.

Friends or not it doesn't make sense for them to not have some type paper work

When I first started watching they were rotating hosts.

Outside of Mecca (who I’m not too fond of but seems to be on every show) and Bigga (also there consistently) I don’t see why anyone would need a contract when he used to switch them out with Five Mics and Smart and Byrdz and all those other ******. Shoulda kept doing that

Because in the beginning it's paperwork and ownership of nothing, but you're right.

Consultants get put under contract for the work they are doing for you. You don't want to have x amount set away in your budget for Consultants and then they hit you with "yesterday's price is not today's price". You put them under contract for a set period, when the contract is up, you review and see if you want to re-up at different wages. Standard business practice.

Same, but it's obvious the watchers gravitated to a certain crew and that's what Math's starting line up became. A lot of the other people were forgettable, regardless if I like Lispy or you guys not liking Esso, they bring some sort of reaction instead of no reaction.

The issue is when Math starts bragging about numbers, so they're thinking we played a part.

And that Math talk of I have to take care of my family first, what? I'd be like, have they been helping out with the pod? At what point are you beyond outfitting your family where you can take care of me?

Dudes are bosses in the pod, but also don't treat it like the streets. What happens on the streets when you aren't looking out for your workers and they only see your situation improving?

It really looked like some of it was Yayo looking at Hynaken and Esso like, that's your mans?

Most businesses start out as "nothing" and people still file LLCs, Trademarks, hire people etc. It's not like they were filming in someone's house with an iphone shooting the @#$%

People know what potential podcasting has now no excuse to not have your ducks in a row

Technically My expert opinion started 3 years ago but didn't go "viral" until that Meth interview last year.
