I skip through this podcast now, and every time I see a clip it reinforces why I do.
The topic is how much Joe Budden is earning. This whole podcast has become about the podcast at this point.

I haven't been listening that long, but yeah, even i can sense the shift from actual topics to discussing the pod or spaces at a much higher frequency. As if they manufacture the drama so they can make sure there is something to talk about in case real topics are light.

It used to have more structure and actual topics they focused on but now it’s about chasing whatever will go viral or they can clip up for content…All over the place

They need a producer and "screen man" again for sure. The pod is wildly popular but I think Joe takes for granted that a lot of listeners are just out of habit.

Issue with Pod is is too much content, 3-4 hr free shows 2X a week, not sure how much they do on Patreon

Let me go back some to note the fact that i consume both the podcast episodes as well as the patreon episodes. I don't really separate them or view them as different products, however I do believe there is probably an effort to produce them in different ways. And it's very well likely that the patreon episodes are supposed to be more "personal" or "honest" vs the podcast episodes and that's why I consume so many personal topics about them.
All that said...yeah, they have topics. And they spend 3 mins on those topics and then 10-15 mins on some personal bs...Mel seeing this dude or Joe was at this strip club. I'm entertained regardless, but I'll call a spade a spade.
The top 75 r&b acts convo was so good in part because i legit can't remember the last time they spent that amount of time (30 mins on 75 - 26 alone...add another 20 for 25-1) seriously discussing a topic. They ain't broke something down like that since the beef last year.
I'm stunting...most of that episode was good...it had the Tyler Perry convo, they touched on the fat joe situation, nas and Jimmy they discussed for a few seconds...but yeah.
As someone else said, a producer would probably go a long way for them...someone to keep them focused on topics, good discussions, and also the flow of the show. Marc is kinda in that role right now imo...he naturally flows from 1 topic to the next. He's much better at it than Joe, although I do miss the "Uhhh...what's next WHAT ELSE WHAT ELSE WHAT ELSE, uhhhh"
