The Combat Jack Show Thread

I really dislike the "didn't age well" conversations they seem to be doing now. It's music man.

They’re so use to microwave music, they can’t even comprehend what timeless music is.

Bach and Beethoven compositions still getting played after damn near 500 years. I guess they didn’t age well

They want him to be like "I'm your cousin come on the pod...." :lol

I get what Ish saying. Athletes and entertainers always deal with cousins they never met all in they face.

i guess they’re just ‘podding’ by being obtuse about not understanding his point…because i don’t think most folk could/would have the expectation that a family member they are not already close to, have never met to link up/reach out on a random one

I listened to some of his IG live with Kwame and Anton Daniels, Gil tryna put a spin on it.

They confuse me how they go back and forth, but wanted to do business with each other.

Not sure how Gilbert can spin it. We're taking your name off it, made you a part time employee and putting our employees on your channel.

Sounds like Gil or his lawyers didn't go through the contract thoroughly.

perhaps…but most likely gil didn’t think it would get to this point

That's true also. He might not have cared about the fine print, because he never considered that he would get in a legal problem.

Good discussions

It's a lot of work. Most aren't going to do what Joe did. They're just going to want the check at the end.

That was Joe's beef with Peter, he realized he didn't need him. I know engineers who can help with the sound. I don't believe that $4 mil a month. That might be to pad the books and scare Gil from going dolo. These are our expenses, this is your cut after everything.

I don't see how after Covid people don't realize how it can be done.

That's why Joe liked Rod Wave and his uncle so much for figuring out how to make money off their own merch themselves. The world is full of middle men who want a huge cut for not doing much.

i respect those man opinion, they definitely made good points & have an informed perspective about the world of content creation, it’s apparent that their bias is towards ownership and smaller production(s) that may not be as much of a ‘concern’ for athletes/celebrities who are entering that space of content creation…because for the most part the athletes/celebrities/folks that come to it with ‘motion’ are not necessarily concerned about the check primarily rather it’s the things that make the production run smoothly, having systemic approach such that man can just show up & the whole ting works at a certain standard; especially at level they were doing for gil’s arena w/multiple cameras, multiple personalities & an in person studio setup…it makes sense that they’d partner with folk that have they know rather than front all of the upfront cost(s)

there is undoubtedly some fluff to the numbers as tends to be the case w/bigger productions, not that it is literally inflated/made up but i’d fasho guess that if they wanted to run a tighter operation many things could be consolidated for efficiency but we don’t know all the costs associated with equipment, building & running sets, staffing, payroll, maintenance, infrastructure, data, stuff can add up & it might be more the amortized cost(s) than literal actual cost(s)…ultimately it’s different approaches that each come w/pros & cons

I understand not respecting everyone's opinion. I would say I also dont respect everyone's opinion. But that's a trait I'm ashamed of and feel is wrong. It is no boost.

You have no clue who will drop a gem on you when you wasn't even expecting it. And chances are, if youre walking around assuming youre too good to consume or respect someone's opinion, you missed a gem or two.

Charla was dead on. It's an oxymoron to say you're "intellectually curious" while also saying you dont respect everyone's opinion. The moment you shun anyone, youre no longer at peak curiosity.
