Right but his range is disguising something a tad bit more troubling with his game. There is a reason why he chooses to shoot that far, and that's my biggest reservation about his game. And I love Lonzo, and he's been a great college player but I'm 50/50 on him as a pro
He's made like one midrange jumper this season. Everything with him is either a long 3 or a layup. This is an issue because his handle isn't good enough to break his man down off the dribble and he hasn't played a lot in PnR, a staple in the NBA.
Basically he takes a ton of long 3s because he has trouble getting to the rim off the bounce, due to a lack of handles and overall "game." Shooting that far should never be a staple in your game like it is with in terms of projecting for the next level. It's actually pretty alarming.
