THE FREEDOM THREAD

It all happens bexcuse of our consent and participation. Granted it's blind consent, it's still consent.

And even people who know a few things about our enslavement still participate because they don't fully understand to what extent we are being controlled.

I've been looking into Facebook and it goes way deeper than some kid coming up with an idea while in his college dorm.

The new privacy updates for 2015 put the nail in the coffin for me, but it's baffling how much information people share without regard for their privacy.

It always felt very intrusive to me regardless of how much you're willing to share.

The way that these videos are arranged, is a microcosm of how libertarianism is able to cynically manipulate our critical impulses. Many people first get exposed to systemic social and political critiques early in their undergraduate careers. That is great. Despite claims to the contrary, liberal arts are anything but useless.

You get exposed to Locke and Rousseau and you see a series of very strong, philosophical anti-authoritarian arguments. At the same time, you are probably learning just what a sieve our Constitutional Rights really are. You find that we are an empire abroad and we have a prison and police empire at home. We throw people in dungeons for possessing certain types of plant matter. Civil servants, who are sworn to protect us, butcher us. What do we do to combat a system that is deeply flawed from both a practical and philosophical perspective?

If you answered cut taxes on the very rich, deregulate big business and abolish the minimum wage, you probably are a libertarian.

The professional libertarians who lurk on college and university campuses, will see to it that you spend the the most energetic and idealistic time of your adult years hating the weak, loving the strong, despising the disadvantaged, worshiping the privileged, being disengaged from civic life and believing that the noblest of acts is the single minded pursuit of money.

The world of critical political thought is like a pilgrimage. It is a journey that starts with you in your narrow, bland, parochial world of adolescence and suburban, consensus politics. You are trying to get to a full fledged, adult understanding of your world but you have to walk on a well worn path. The path is teeming with cranks and charlatans and hucksters, bandits that want to steal your youth and good intentions. They want you to think that you are liberated when you are really just an instrument of the ruling class.

Make that pilgrimage but proceed with a great deal of caution.

So if you're not part of that 1% of society, you're either an agent of statism (cop, politician, judge, etc) or you're a prisoner.

Granted some folks have nicer cells than others (nicer homes, cars, possessions), we're all either willingly or unwillingly being forced to work for the agendas of others.

I never agreed to the war in Iraq or Afghanistan, I never agreed to bail out these companies owned by the 1%, I never agreed to be subjugated to the laws I HAVE to abide by or else I face imprisonment and theft of my resources. I know what the natural laws are without anyone ever having to tell me, even as a child I had a moral compass, certain things, like theft and assault NATURALLY just felt wrong.

The notion that we as a society HAVE to pay taxes or else society as we know it would implode is ludicrous. Who says we as society can't come together and pool our money as WE see fit. Who says national infrastructure would fall?

No THEIR infrastructure would fall, their ARMIES would fall, their AGENDAS would fall, not ours. We can still build our world and our children's world without catering to evil.

But our eyes are wide shut, we're conditioned to believe whatever propaganda the media (also controlled by the 1%) feeds us.

Hell some of us are SO scared to even go against the grain, even the thought of it, even the very discussion of it brings paranoia. "I don't want to talk about this online because I feel like they're watching".

We're in prison folks, some of us just have nicer cells than others.

Edit: Click on above image for better resolution.

You touched on a very important point about not needing to have anyone explain the natural laws to you as a child. We're hard wired with a moral compass that's manipulated from the jump.

Great post, out of reps for the moment I got u later

All very true. It took me a long time to get an understanding of the world and the evolution of society.

Like a previous a previous poster. I consider myself an Anarchist based on the belief that society does not need to be centrally controlled, not based on the perverted definition and how an Anarchist is portrayed on TV throwing Molotov cocktails. I believe in non-violence/non-aggression and have a very broad influences ranging from Spooner to Rothbard to Konkin to Block to Chomsky to Nietzsche to Malcolm X. Learned you have to be eclectic because there is a common goal.

In an anarchist society, what mechanisms would be put in place to make sure that "force and resources" do not become organized?

I'm sure mankind started off without laws and society initially, and the organization of force and resources was a natural evolution...

What prevents this from happening again?

In a society where everyone has a complete understanding of the non agression principle as well as the self defense principle, we would all be self sustained without the need to for a system of "force". The same way we are all currently self sustained as far as keeping eachother in the propetual cycle of slavery by upholding an authoritarian system. We police ourselves via culture.

There's a clear difference between force and violence. Were all operating under duress in one way or another whether were cognizant of it or not. Were currently living under the threat of violence.

No mechanisms would be needed when principals are understood and you live in accordance with natural law. The crazy thing about it is everything outside of natural law is so limiting in so many ways. When you get down to the nitty gritty of it all I feel that it's all about not violating others and respecting other living entities. That and love. If you can live within those peramiters everything else is wide open for you pretty much in the scope of true freedom.

So an anarchist society can only exist after every human is able to understand the entirety of consciousness and true reality.

Makes sense. Natural progression of society I suppose. Tribal - feudal - societal - singularity/anarchy.

Will probably take a couple thousand years to get there though.

I disagree. I'd say within the next hundred years or so. The Internet has/is accelerated this at an exponential level. This conversation is a conversation being shared globally now for the first time ever in the known human history. This is a sign of the times.

Perfect example.

My son (2 when his sister was born) was jealous when his sister was born, and he'd throw tantrums when we showed her extra attention.

But after a while, with really zero prompting he HIMSELF realized that his sister was just a baby and needed special attention.

In fact he became receptive of her needs and became very affectionate without his mother or I guiding him through the process.

If she cries, he comes to her aid. If he's playing with a toy and she crawls over and wants to play, he may be resistant at first but as soon as she cries he shares his toys and is very consoling.

I can see his thought process, I can see without ever being taught that he has conscience.

We as humans instinctively have the capacity and the innate ability to differentiate right from wrong. We do NOT need others to govern and micromanage us.

not the entirety of consciousness and true reality but the basic principles that are in accordance with natural law. a utopia is not going to happen in our lifetime or ever. however there is a balance. id like to imagine it can happen in a shorter time span like @BenRoethlisberger was saying. we have the tools to get the ball rolling at a very fast pace right now.

Freedom
The definition of freedom is the infinite value of the human
being. The definition of evil is the destruction of freedom.
Everything that is evil teaches people that they have limited
value.
Simple
Truth is always simple. All people recognize truth because all
people are intelligent beings. It is the nature of evil to create
artificially complex ideas. It does this to hide or obfuscate the
freedom it destroys. If you remove the complexities and fears
from your life you will find a plain and beautiful truth. This
truth is the nature of your worth.
Value of man
To understand freedom is to understand the value of a person.
Everything that evil wants is to disguise and destroy your value.
All authority is created by evil men to disguise your worth. To
understand your own worth is to understand the nature of liberty.
Evil
The crucial key for understanding our world is to understand
the nature of evil. Evil challenges the value of people by
denying them the opportunity to make their own choices; by
denying them the chance to grow strong in learning and
understanding.

Pretty much sums it up. There are mechanisms to prevent the use of "force".

Typically how it is described is that each community will have their own set our rules and recourse if any crime takes place. The best example I can use is Home Owners Association, before moving into that particular sub-division you are agreeing to the terms of the Association and/or the rules (laws) that come with moving into that neighborhood. Most likely, that neighborhood will come with a private security (police). If the police is up to standards, great. If not, you can go out and get another (better) security firm. If there is civil dispute ie destruction of private property there will be independent arbitration that will objectively take care of the problem (in this particular case there isnt "Judges" appointed who have a political agenda).

The problem is in the latter of your post (GWAP). People in this society don't respect other peoples lives and property. They think private property is in the form of patents, copyrights, licenses, or anything the government gives you permission to own.
