Addiction has nothing to do with intelligence, it's a disease.

Sure y'all sports fans especially NFL fans love to act like these guys aren't human like all the other millions struggling with addictions without all the entrapment of a professional lifestyle and dealing with the physical punishment of the game.

he also has support that millions of others struggling with addiction could only dream of

excuses run out IMO

Decker has a partially torn rotator cuff...he's definitely gonna be missing some time. That **** hurts so bad, I dealt with it just recently.

How is he not an idiot?

nah addiction isnt an excuse for being an idiot.

i chew tobacco even though it says cancer in bold letters. i know i'm addicted and i also know i'm an idiot.

Basically what Awwsome said.

I think he has problems with impulse control ( like on steroids) and it probably doesn't help that he's playing in the NFL as opposed another league. I think if played in the NBA or NHL,we may not to hearing about Josh Gordon's drug problems.

Why does it seem like we mainly hear about guys in the NFL getting suspended for substances of abuses?

Dion Lewis strolled through the locker room. Normal stroll. Casual. One foot in front of the other. Good walk. No limp.

Except that doesn't make sense because the parts of the brain dedicated to habit forming/addiction and actual intelligence aren't the same.

Explain to me then, how there have been Nobel prize winning scientists that suffer from addiction?

They stupid just like Josh Gordon right?

Or maybe it's the fact that addiction changes the very hardwiring of your brain to satisfy it no matter how "smart" you are.

Anyone you thinks that Gordon is suffering from addiction because he's stupid are dumber than he is and are showing a serious lack of empathy which like I said, NFL fans.

One of my biggest grips is how we don't want to look into mental health.

You say mental health everyone gets scared like Im callin people crazy.

It's a lot of different mental health issues not being discussed when it comes to addiction.

As a recovering alcoholic, my heart goes out to anyone with an addiction.

Brock sounds like such a little *****

“I think that’s hilarious, to be honest with you,” Osweiler said, according to the Houston Chronicle. “The critique comes from a whole lot of people that don’t know my read on that play. They’ve probably never actually sat in an offensive meeting in their life, let alone a quarterback meeting in the National Football League.”

"That's why I don't look at Twitter. That's why -- no offense to anybody (media) in here -- I don't watch anything. I don't read anything."

Kaepernick said something real similar when he started falling off, forget what it was something like "do you even know what my read was?" feel like it was a meme at one point too.

my memory may be lieing to me too tho :lol

is josh drunk like every day? i've know alcholics and they literally cannot function without the stuff. is that him?

or is Josh the guy that can't say no to going out with the homies, or just can't say no to going out for drinks with friends?

there is a difference and "addiction" is not applicable to both cases

i'm honestly asking. i was under the impression it was the second.

I swear some of the smartest people I have ever met make some of the dumbest decisions

Because the commisioner and the owners are hypocrites on top of being thieves and liars. Doesnt matter if the rule regarding recreational drug use is completely outdated and stupid as ****. Gotta keep pushing dem pharmaceuticals. Its where the profit is. **** the well being of the players and common sense.

I don't care what his IQ is and we aren't taking it that literal. You can still be smart and be an idiot.

Addiction can take the form of anything whether it's weed, alcohol, tobbaco, coffeee, fast food, television, Niketalk, video games ect. it can come from all aspects of life.

He's an idiot by doing something he knows he shouldn't no matter how much hes addicted instead of doing the smart thing and making millions. And especially with these stories of josh hitting up clubs and partying with Manziel. It's not an excuse.

You don't get it obviously, you should educate yourself on what addiction really is but you also show a lack of willingness to open your mind so you probably won't.

Well I hope Flash Gordon ends up in New England or Carolina
The coaches and management would help instill some discipline and stability in his life

I think New England is where he has to be. If he can't get his **** straight there then he never will anywhere.

My boy was with Josh Gordon during Art Basel last year and they spent the whole time burning it down, so I don't think it Alcahol as much as the party lifestyle in general.

But when does it ever fall on the person? Because it sounds like a lot of people just make excuses for him

nah man i totally get it here's my favorite summary of it

My dad was (could still be, most likely is... i don't know) like that. He'd wake up, fill a 24 ounce sippy straw cup of beer and start his day like that.

I have the addictive gene he passed on to me. I give no inches to anyone not mentally strong enough. Do I take it from my own personal experience. Yes.

Do I feel for those who aren't mentally strong enough to fix the ******-t in their life? Sure. I can understand why someone is doing what they are doing because of addiction. But I don't feel mercy or sad because they can't help themselves even though everyone (or a good majority) are doing everything they can to pull him up and help him? No.

Plenty of people have temporarily overcome addiction to obtain a goal. Im not giving Josh any type of pass for being mentally weak. He could have passed enough tests to not be in the program, and then burn to his heart's content.

The bigger issue is coaches and owners pushing their trainers to pressure players into pain killers to fulfill their skimp *** contracts. Weed is banned but they handing out vicodins like tic tacs. Let these boys smoke so they dont turn into full blown pill heads.

I got my own problems. Not riding for Josh at all. Just using common sense. NFL is corrupt as **** on a lot of levels. They out here peddling pills and taking away livelihoods over cannabis use. How is that okay?

I love BB and I think he's probably the greatest coach of my time but I just realized. Since he took over, the AFCE is basically the AFCS. That division is terrible outside of NE. Jets had like two good years, Miami had one or two. That's it. I wonder what it would be like if he was in a better division. I think he's still winning a good amount but that division is trash.
