or maybe chip was never a "racist" and just hated dealing with McCoy & Jackson.
Exactly.  Dudes really took that stupid "Chip Kelly is a racist" narrative and ran with it, just because he cut (traded) a couple dudes off the team he didn't vibe with.  Then tried to throw the whole "Well why did he keep Riley Cooper, then?" argument, knowing damn well the only reason he was still on the team, was because of his contract.

Chip moved up a notch in my book. That puts him at notch 1...

Still don't respect that he continued to employ racist Riley garbage as....still don't respect the smear campaign that came with letting desean go. All the gang ties stuff that leaked had to come from somewhere right??

Let's not turn him into Malcolm just yet y'all. Pump the brakes.

Did Chip Kelly win back some urban points with his defense of Kaepernick?

honestly, I think desean and lesean took things personnel cause dude is different and played a role in getting rid of them..

when he made the john carlos move while at oregon, kinda hard for me to side with guys who had maturity issues before and since

:rollin

I was kind of surprised and impressed by him sticking up for Kaep like that :lol :smokin. He's learned a lesson from Philly it seems

Thanks for bringing this up, I forgot to earlier.

If Chip is gonna get slandered for the perception that he's a racist...I think he should get credit for how he's dealt with the Kap situation. Especially since the guy who hired him (Baalke) wants Kap out so bad that he's feeding rhetoric to his media butt buddies so they could slander Kap.

Chip could've easily avoided it or kept it to football. Or even gave a tepid endorsement of Kap. Not only did he strongly defend Kap, but he even brought it back to the main issues at hand.

Caught me by surprise, but if we're gonna keep it 100 on him then he gets props for how he's handling a real sensitive topic.

Good thoughtful answers. He has gone further than any other NFL head coach which is surprising.

I think Chip handled it well.

the takes would be some all timers

Must've skimmed reading other @CJ616 post. Coop wasn't traded because of his contract. And you really blaming Chip for the "smear campaign" after seeing what the 49ers GM was doing to Kap

It's so funny when pundits and commentators say the "Browns are in rebuild mode". Rebuild of WHAT? Them boys been back since 1999 and what, one or two playoff appearances? One Browns reporter on NFL network said "Draft better...they're still a young team, etc". It's hilarious :lol

Clevelands biggest issue (like most franchises) is lack of patience.

Lol honestly when you think about it they are rebuilding their rebuild. Oddly enough. Cleaned house of people and players who weren't capable of rebuilding. I think Hue finally turns it around into something at least a tiny bit positive.

I think they'll allow Hue to suck first. Patience really is the problem. If they're smart they will.

I still don't get why Hue got the axe in Oakland after one 8-8 season when they were a disaster as well.

^ trading two 1sts for palmer wasn't a smart decision.. not sure how long he was in charge of things to talk about other things they did (specifically thinking the Richard Seymour trade)

Not turning him into Malcolm but I personally never bought the racist narrative.

Chip has worked closely with hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of black men and more importantly young black kids.

It might sound cliche but you just can't successfully run a team or a program long term without building some serious emotional equity, respect and trust of the players.

If he was a racist it would have been felt a looooooong time ago and I can't take the notion seriously that suggest McCoy or DJax were the first to act or speak on it.

I really don't think it was any of that, and I don't think if was his questionable press conference at the end of the 2011 season that was really poorly received. A lot of people factor that in but I really think it was as simple as the wizard Reggie McKenzie coming in and just wanting to hire his guy. Hue maybe just wasn't even registered on McKenzie HC radar until the Oakland opportunity came up.

I nvr called the man racist..he just made mad questionable moves in philly...chip the GM was a mess, I simply don't think highly of dude and I'll leave it at that..good coach....glad he spoke up for kap..big move..

I feel it I didn't mean you specifically but I just remember a lot of people around here running with it at the time.
