I think almost everyone agreed that he did lose the first fight. Only ones thinking he didn't are max himself and Hawaiians.

Edwards' chance to be vaulted up went out the window when the Woodley fight got cancelled. Burns ends up getting Woodley instead and capitalized. Sucks for Edwards but reality is Burns probably deserves the shot

I love Leon and people may not agree but I actually think he has the best chance of beating Usman but Burns deserves it more than Leon. UFC is a straight "what have you done for me lately" when it comes to these kinds of things and the wins over Maia and Woodley would put him in place for it. It just be some **** if they don't apply this to Aljo and still skip over and give it to Moraes.

Watched the card last night (was so tempted to look at the results in the morning but was able to avoid them). I definitely felt Max won for what he did the first two rounds and with the 3rd being close I still would have given him the edge in that one. Volk then did just enough to win the 4th and 5th. Max overall had the bigger moments and did more damage though. The judging has been flawed and I really hate decisions like these.
The Usman/Masvidal fight went about how I thought it would go. I knew if Masvidal didn't get an early finish that Usman was likely to control him with takedowns and clinch work. Not an exciting fight but still have to respect Usman for getting it done. Burns definitely next with his recent win over TWood, Leon could have been next if he'd beaten Tyron but it is what it is at this point. You can basically throw out the rankings as it's more about what you've done the last 2-3 fights for the most part.

What can I say, I think thats a wrap for Aldo. He talking about he gonna come back stronger...nahhh he tarnishing his legacy at this point. My guy need to walk away, maybe feed him a winnable fight and call it a career.
I felt max definitely got robbed, gotta watch it again but “it is what it is”
Masvidal did really well all things considering, he had his spots and opportunities but you can tell he was working against the clock from the moment the bell rang....usman looked unimpressive foot stomping his way to victory....burns sitting at home grinning ear to ear

From listening to podcasts today and what not, it just shows how unanimous everyone felt that Max won that fight and how the UFC just really needs to get some professionals in their to judge. Max is a legend already but I just don't see him getting that belt back any time soon.

Rogan had a good idea on the fight companion....he was saying instead of just 3 judges the ufc should pay for 10 of them...this way the score will be more “unanimous” opposed to having 1 or 2 rouge judges being able to ruin a decision of 3 people.

Wow did not expect it to surpass 1mil PPV's. Was expecting around 500-750k tops. Dana and Co stay getting that $$$
Also it definitely appears Max will now have to win 2-3 fights to get another shot, regardless of it being close the UFC generally doesn't give a 3rd fight. But Max would definitely be deserving with a few wins over ranked guys.

A legit majority versus a 2 outta 3 scenario.
judges aren't expensive either, it’s a viable solution that could be implemented asap. I’d like to see it happen until they adopt a completely new MMA-specific scoring system....

WOW! Jorge got Usman paid. Usman really missed an opportunity gaining more fans by foot stomping. You guys think Jorge's stock dropped after the fight?

Ehh team sports have proven much more difficult to continue during these times. An org like the UFC has a clear advantage of having fighters who only compete 2-3 times/year max so being able to test them for a single event of the course of a week instead of team leagues like MLB/NBA where you literally have to test players nearly every day for a matter of months. For non individual sports we may not see things get back to somewhat normal until next year or even 2022.
