Condit v Alves set for May 30
pimp.gif

Alves actually coming off two wins and should be 4 in a row if not for making STUPID decisions with Kampmann (Alves was dominating Kampmann standing up but Alves decided to take him down for no reason and lost due to choke)
Should be a good standup war. I favor Condit even tho I mess with Alves heavy but Condits time off might be an issue.

The rumor was that Burt who is UFC's babysitter to the stars, "neglected" Munoz by leaving him at the arena after the weigh ins. Somehow UFC found out and an argument between Burt and a UFC employee occurred which ended with him quitting.

makes sense lol...
I guess the original rumor about Burt and Munoz was right. He addressed it on the MMA Hour today.

Anybody else reminded a little bit of the TJ Dillashaw situation coming into this with RDA v Pettis. Not that Pettis=Barao but just the feeling coming into it

I keep thinking, there's no way Pettis loses but RDA seems like a killer either that or he's on that good HGH

I don't think they're comparable situations.

People respect Dos Anjos (sp). We watched him knock out Bendo (who I've never seen knocked out). He and Habib are both legit #1 contenders. I'd say stylistic Showtime has the tools to hang with Dos Anjos. Anthony has good striking and BJJ.

I'd say going into a fight with Habib. That's when I'm like I don't know. Can't wait to see the Habib/Cowboy fight to see who the next #1 contender is.

Not even close to Dillashaw/Barao

Tj is a young up a coming athletic wrestler. Dos Anjos is a tough veteran who rounded out his skillset over the span of many years.

Barao also had a knack for getting into brawls and had been hit and hurt standing before running into dillashaw.

Pettis only flaw we've ever seen was being humped to death but since guida he has shown vast improvements in defending takedowns and doing just well off his back ( word to bendo)

Plus Pettis isn't in that p4p debate yet that Barao was...not to say he isn't in their but he just needs to get more active and prove it.

Could dos anjos pull off the upset sure, but its nowhere near that fight.

What I meant by the TJ reference was that is anyone really giving RDA a chance? I felt like nobody gave TJ a chance and I don't think anyone is really hyped for RDA either

He already upset henderson. I wouldn't be surprised at another upset. If the fight stays standing most of the time I'd like to see Pettis use vicious body kicks again.

i think people are probably giving dos anjos a way better chance than TJ

nobody really knew or cared about who TJ beat before he faced barao

I hope they do, I think RDA is up for it. It seems like nobody really buzzing for the fight in general

Haven't seen Pettis fight this soon after a previous match in awhile

Yeah, no one is discounting Dos Anjos. And the TJ Dillashaw comparison isn't accurate or relevant in this case.

Pettis is simply the favored fighter on paper.

But you bring up an interesting point about how he looked lackluster against a decent wrestler. Habib is a great wrestler. Cowboy already said he's not looking forward to the matchup.

Cowboy has been trashed by Nate, Pettis and RDA and he lost to Bendo in his last fight (who had already defeated him twice). Pettis and RDA will serve him again if they meet

He was also getting lit up by Barboza and was fortunate to connect on that jab

Don't have any faith in Cowboy

Cowboy is the man. He's been on a tear as of late against low-mid tier talent. I wouldn't call Cowboy top tier in the LW division. But I'd say with him and the other names you mentioned, it shows that the division is stacked.

Sucks that Bendo was being too tentative in that fight and lost.

57 of 125 SIG strikes- Cowboy
86 of 155 SIG strikes- Benson

But Benson was being too tentative

Volume does not always equal damage. A pitter patter rain of Nick Diaz jabs are different than say coming from Anthony Johnson.

I never said Bendo didn't win that fight. It was close but from my recollection he seemed tentative. I want to say he was doing those weak kicks he kept messing around with for a couple of fights.

He left it to the judges. Maybe those soft kicks were leaving them light headed, lol.

I'm glad he rebounded the next fight. Just don't think he should stay at WW. He seemed to be struggling for a little bit there with the Dos Anjos and Cowboy fight.

So what did Cowboy do to win and how was he not just as tentative as Bendo if not more tentative

Are you being argumentative for arguments sake?

I said it was a close fight. Both looked performed poorly in that fight. If the judges had called the fight a draw, I wouldn't have cared either way.

Now if you feel so strongly about it, by all means write a complaint to the Nevada Commission.

You said sucks Bendo was being too tentative and lost the fight, implying that Cowboy wasn't being tentative. Just asking you how that works

Like I said, Cowboy is going to get what's coming to him regardless, I don't feel strongly about the decision at all

the fight could have gone either way or even a draw, it just came down to cowboy pressing forward more, "aggression and octagon control"

its not something we like to hear but its what happened

Yeah, that's something that is tough to prove in terms of "pressing forward" being aggressive (which statistically isn't true) and having control

The fight was microwaved

Please. Let him continue with the Cowboy vitriol.

Personally, I like Bendo, Cowboy, Diaz, Dos Anjos, Pettis, Habib (can't spell his last name), Thomson, Melendez, Etc. The top15 in that division are legit. Can't say the same for some of the other divisions.

Now who's trying to argue? You want to leave it be leave it be

I LOVE Cowboy, if you check my posts in this thread a bulk of them are about Cowboy

It's not my fault you say something and can't explain how or why you said it

maybe its cause ive never seen him fight an elite wrestler but cowboy is a big dude for 155 and ive never seen anyone control him

The back and forth is dead then. Let look forward to Pettis/Anjos.

Agreed, *olive branch*

Watching the Embedded has honestly not even got me hyped for some reason

Brown/Hendricks should also be great since Hendricks won't be (or shouldn't be) point fighting in a 3 round match.. yet I'm not too hyped..

The women's fight I'm moderately interested in hopefully they put on a show for the new division

They both sucked but Cowboy didn't do **** to win that fight, period. He didn't even have octagon control. It was a wack fight and a wack decision, but whatever it happens.

As far as RDA, I just got that feeling that he made the jump by using PEDs. He was middling until he all of a sudden turned into a beast, I just don't know about that guy man.
