The NBA Draft Thread

Fox been the best player on the floor tonight

I'd strongly consider him at #4

Lonzo has great vision and all, but I'm not seeing any killer instinct or offensive aggressiveness at all. Dude is hoping one of his stupid step back 3s fall.

lack of versatility in that jump shot is a concern. It might prevent him from being a star.

can't shoot it going right, has a little hitch going off the dribble.

limits his effectiveness as a pick and roll ballhandler.

Ball's lack of dribble drive ability holds his game back immensely

More concerning was his defense. Fox torched him

Still going with what I said before the game, this game would not dictate who I'd take before the other. Still going Ball fully aware of his shortcomings

Lavar is lucky this game is on a Friday and that the Elite 8 starts up the next day...he would be getting roasted on First Take tomorrow :lol

I would still take ball, no way of predicting if Fox will lean to shoot.

Ball still has a high floor, but his ceiling may have a hard limit with those funky mechanics. He's like a Rubio or a Rondo who can hit step back 3's but might as well be a non shooter if he can't get his jump off going to his right.

Honestly his shot is less of a concern than his PnR/Dribble Drive/Penetration

If he can somehow improve his ability to beat his defender and get into the paint, his whole game has a new ceiling

Scoring won't be his bread and butter. Setting the table and creating should/will be. He needs to get on a program ASAP

I made a vow to stay away from PGs that can't shoot, but I may have to break it for Fox. He's the goods.

I wouldn't put Ball in the same sentence as Rondo. Rondo was much much better at breaking down defenses. Even Rubio has much better vision.

Ball seems like a player that'll only thrive if he has good players around him.

And Lonzo just announced that was his last game and he's entering the draft. That was fast.

No lavar, but if fox and lonzo switched places ucla wouldnt even make the tourny. Kentucky could be unbeaten

Agree...ball and DLo would get torched nightly on the defensive end

Nah b

Lonzo couldn't make Bam magically start hitting 3 pointers. Kentucky would have nobody to take over the scoring load when Monk isn't hitting his shots. Lonzo is a very good playmaker when he wants to be aggressive but he was also blessed with a team and system this year that perfectly fit him. He wouldn't fit at all with what Kentucky usually wants out of their point guard.

I don't want to go overboard on one game, but I do wonder what Fox would look like with the Lakers core.

Like I said in the Lakers thread, he could be the intersection of Lonzo's playmaking and bball IQ with Jackson's athleticism and versatility.

Just something to consider.
