The NBA Draft Thread

Late to the Ball party but if you think people are skeptical off the one game you're not paying attention. Also, I think using Kidd, Rondo, or Rubio as reasons not to be worried is silly being that all three are absolutely elite PnR players and all were exceptional defenders. None of these things are true about Ball, and I'm of the belief that you don't just develop the ability to be an elite PnR play overnight. Some things are just innate

Yeah you late haha. We've been talking Ball's weaknesses for several months now. One game isn't going to change opinions for either side

I'm aware lol. I follow this thread on the low, just haven't commented until I was seeing all the back and forth as if these flaws weren't pointed out months ago

He's a much better shooter than Exum

Waaaay better shooter than him. I kinda like his fit with Ben Simmons cause he can play off the ball. Plus we would have basically an all international starting lineup :lol

What's your opinion on Frank? You follow international ball more than anybody in here so thought I'd ask you

been too busy this year tbh.

I watched a bti of him at the U18 Euro tournament, reminds me of a better shooting Delon Wright.

Shifty, fluid, but lacks eltie first step.

EDIT.

He's not a better prospect than Exum imo, Exum was a bigger, and better athlete, with a quicker first step.

The biggest knock on Frank is that he struggles getting to the rim

This group of PG's is the best in recent memory so he probably goes after Fultz, Ball, Fox, & DSJr in the 7-10 range

Yeah Ball's long been a polarizing prospect on here. Don't think there's truly a pro comparison for him

He doesn't have the dribble drive attack that any of the aforementioned point guards do, whether it's isolation or PnR and his defense is questionable at best

His strengths. which are well documented, still have me taking him as the second point guard off the board

I believe his intelligence will allow him to develop that attacking, down hill style he needs in the half court. Needs to tighten up the handle first and foremost. I don't worry about his shooting, because again, he's not a score first point guard. Yet you still can't just sag off him

Personally I think the Jazz have a terrible job developing Exum, plus the injuries.

I still see the talent, but looking less likley he will ever get their. shame.

Dennis Smith is the second best PG in this draft imo. Far more strengths than weaknesses. Can make an immediate impact, plus he has that "it" factor.

NBAdraft.net wilding have Fultz at 3 now

Only thing I want confirmation on are his medical records

I could fully see Ainge taking Jackson at #1 though

Kill the NBA draft

The annual event and its subculture are fun. But the whole enterprise is a drain on NBA competitiveness and remains unfair to amateur players entering the league.

http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2017/3/26/14973314/kill-the-nba-draft-rookies-ncaa-free-agency

This is an awful idea.

I get wanting to get rid of rewarding tanking but it's never gonna happen. What 19-20 year old kid is gonna say 'I want to spend the next 7 years of my life in Sacramento with Skal Labissiere.' or 'Playing with Elfrid Payton seems fun.'?
That's where I would change Ziller's idea and just give teams money according to record. Like if you finish with the worst record, you get $10M, if you finish second worse, you get $9.5M, etc. all the way down to the 30th team.

the success of all these PG's will be the situation they are drfated into. All of them can be great. But if the Kings draft you. Bye bye

Na I agree with him. That Cousins trade will look like a real good haul in a couple of years. As long as Vivek has zero input on who they draft :lol

Kings should get a really good haul assuming they get two top 10 picks

Virtually impossible to mess this up

Buddy has been balling for the Kings. Had he gotten traded their Earlier, the roy conversation would be totally different.

I've really cooled on Monk

When his shot is off he doesn't do much else to warrant a top 5 pick
