Hot takes on Fox and Monk

Monk does literally nothing all game and then hits 2 incredibly big shots in the last 30 seconds. I feel like that's just what he's going to be. He can be an electric scorer, but it isn't something you should expect nightly.

With 10 or more freshman all poised to be lottery picks, it's definitely a special freshman loaded class

So it turns out this might not be the greatest draft class ever or..?

Not every star NBA player finished with amazing games to finish their college careers. Still the best group of top 10 prospects in quite a long time.

Will Da'aron Fox learn to shoot?

Who knows.

Malik Monk very JR Smith-y to me, which is not an insult.

I could care less about tourney runs. There are certain player matchups that I care about though and think they are important.

Monk could be a perennial 6th man of the year. Not the all-star that you'd ideally like, but that is an extremely important piece and not something that you should be upset about with a pick in the 5-10 range.

Tournament runs are for those who have low draft stock but play themselves into an NBA contract.

i.e. Brian Zoubek or Josh Harrellson

Better hope he's really a legit 6-3

Na this draft lottery is still stacked. I'd give some of them some time to really come into their own though since they're all freshman. Very few guys will make an immediate impact.

In recent memory, I think 2014 had the strongest top 8-10 picks pre-draft. But three years later, hasn't produced to expectations. Mostly due to injuries, but still.

I'm not sold on anyone being an All-Star besides Fultz in this draft. Don't get the hype that some in the media are seeing.

Still believe in Monk. The spacing and screen sets run in an NBA game will give him much more space to operate and get the ball. He could definitely play a Rip Hamilton type role for a team. I dont wanna call him Crawford, JR, or Lou because those guys are great ISO scorers.

These freshman have a chance to be very productive starters as their ceilings. I don't know what the media is specifically saying about the class but I think it could be pretty good

Yep i been said Monks ceiling was 6th Man Of The Year JR Smith. Ill be fine with that tho. He don't need to be a superstar if my team drafts him
