The NBA needs to shrink

There is no reason for the NBA to have 30 teams, especially when many teams at the bottom have horrible owners who always put out a sub-par product.

The NBA has watered down the quality of play by having more teams which means people with less and less talent are in the league for no real reason.

The recession should not be challenged by lowering the cap or putting ads on the jersey, some teams should be DISMANTLED.

Anyone agree? I'm venting more than anything and don't see this ever happening but cmon there are at least 6 teams that shouldn't exist anymore

I could tolerate losing 2 teams along with a re-alignment of teams to conferences/divisions.

You will end up with oversized rosters and it just wouldn't work. I

t's getting this way because owners aren't spending their money smartly. When you are already in a low-market city, there is no need to overpay formediocre talent and be in the luxury tax.

less teams = less overall players = more talented league with better competition.

I've said this for the longest, not 6 teams though but cut back on a few.

There are so many players on rosters that have no business being anywhere but the NBDL.

Your logic is flawed. They need a revenue sharing system like baseball. The amount of teams is fine. I will say this though, why the *%!% does Oklahoma have abasketball team.

I don't see how you conclude that by taking teams out, somehow you have more players in the NBA....no, you'd have the same team roster size and if theremaining teams want to pick up the other players they can.....and would then have to cut/trade a player or whatever to do it.

It'd be a retraction draft....though I'd demand to see the NBA show the ping pong drawing live.

It's the good owners/GM's that are hard to find.

Find 30 each of those, and we don't need to clip any teams and the league will be well served.

Charlotte, Sacramento, Memphis, New Orleans can all go. 26 teams would be perfect. Plus make 6 teams per conference in the playoffs with the top 2 teams, ineach conference getting a bye.

What's your obsession with downing Memphis all the time? They aren't the ones having money trouble and Memphis is a basketball city. Greathigh school prospects every year, college program is well supported, the Grizz were being supported until the losing started but it will come back.

Its not the teams talent BTW. It's the owners, so its not the teams that need to go, just better owners for those teams.

Imagine if those six teams were gone. These are the players that will be filling up NBA rosters...

That's just naming the top players on each team. Not including the other good players that are also on the roster. This is a 5 on 5 game. Not the NFL where11 players can play at one time. It should be fewer teams in the league, but its really too late to make that type of decline with more young players cominginto the league on lottery teams.

Two MIGHT be good, it should be two teams with the least amount of talent making the players dispersed be less valuable to teams receiving them.

Yeah, 6 is way too many...honestly, I could see taking 2 out (not sure who...) and really making the divisions and conferences make more sense.

That would help travel and schedule, IMO.

And a few less games would be more beneficial...One of the worst elements as a fan is, like a back to back game and it's clearly evident the other team iswiped/doesn't care.

You ain't tryna have basketball teams gettin a bye when it already takes a week or 2 to get thru a round.

Byes are for football, not other sports.

Yeah I'd nix any bye come the playoffs...It already takes too long...I'd still prefer best of 5 anyway.

If you really want to get creative, cut some teams and then have an overall seed placement for the playoffs. The best records get the higher seed regardless ofconference. And Phoenix should never be out of the league.

Co-Sign. I have no problem with the amount of teams but if one team needs to go it would be the Nets. They never fill up the arena. There'sbarely any fan support there.

seattle is one of the best basketball citys in the USA and did that stop them from been moved? NO

if your going to have a cheap owner and cant draw fans let the team go(thats goes for anyone)
