The Obama effect

I don't see any difference. If there is one, it's benign to me. I just carry myself more professional and grown than I used to since graduating college and gettin married. I noticed the change in how I'm treated in regards to that

So who knows.
I am quite sure that if you were what all your "white friends" had to reference in regard to Black culture and awareness, our new Black President and his wonderfully intelligent and attractive Black family, must have been a shock, possibly to no fault of their own.

Perhaps it'd be better to ask them about how THEY feel.

You're right my white friends thought ALL black (and anything mixed with black) people were second class citizens, prone to violence, socially irresponsible and had pecan sized brains before Obama got elected.

With you as an example, especially after what I have witnessed from you here, I can totally believe that.

Yea ok....I clearly taught my white friends to be racist, liberal philanthropists. I hate black people, but I don't want them to suffer. The KKK is %$%## up.

Anyhow let's not do this convo anymore, it leads nowhere. Besides, I've truly changed my ways or atleast I'm trying to. I applied for an internship with the NAACP and I'm growing a freeway beard and rocking a Dashiki with a matching Koofie.

I haven't, but then again I stay in the least diverse pocket of America. My city is like 84% Black, 11% White, and the rest is "other"....

Well ever since Obama was elected I always say hi to Mr. Fizzy Womack by saying, "What's up my President?  You one crazy President, my President!  Lets get us Presidents some food!"

What can I say we like to eat food.

I havent noticed white people treat me differently. Even if they did, I wouldnt have taken enough time to care and notice the change. But then again Im not black so this question might not even have been for me.

What Im more concerned about from our president has nothing to do with how one race treats another but more with how can we as a country move on from the financial mess we are in along with other important reforms that we are in desperate need of.

The same people that want other races to look past color are the same people who the first thing they notice is color and how it relates to their actions. Kind of ironic.

the president became somewhat of an influence to minorities. Ever since he got elected or during his campaign for that matter, majority of my non-white friends and others who I don't know are becoming more serious and active than before. He really did bring change

Yep, his impact as a role model and inspiration for minority youth is understated

Considering people are accusing the NAACP of being a "racist organization" and "an organization that has benefited from race more than any slave owner ever had" and write a letter pretending to be in the words of Ben Jealous (head of NAACP) to Abe Lincoln and basically try to denigrate and demonize black people as much as possible is your answer on whether the older generation of white people will ever change for the most part..

Best we can hope for is that the racist keep dying off more and more each generation....
