Why oh why would they add stitching to the upper like that?

I mentioned in a previous post how ahead of its time the AMD was due to its nearly seamless construction... Now this? Colorways is nice but those seams HAVE to go.

Does anyone know why are these called “Deluxe”?

Is it because it was made out of the best materials, satin for mesh and real leather?

Definitely not. They're entirely synthetic, even the leather looking embossed heel area was a vinyl material. I'm sure the AMD was far less expensive to produce than the AM 98. Deluxe isn't much more than a name. They even retailed for $10 less than other comparable maxes.

you're serious about that ?? here in the netherlands the AM DLX was 175 euro, while the AM97&98 was 165 and the AM95 160 euro, 175 euro was a crapload of money back in the days, in the 2000-2001 period it was the most expensive AM shoe on the market as far as i can remember, even that the shoe got an hefty pricetag it sold pretty well here in my city, they were not as popular as the 90s, 1s and the BWs but they took the 5th place after the TNs

Yeah, IIRC in the states they were $140 compared to $150 for 97s & 98s. I'll have to pull out my old eastbays and double check.. now you got Me second guessing myself a little lol.

Maaan... you're not lying. The TW V+ is one of my all time favorites.

I was going to make a TW thread a while back. It's by far one if the most confusing lines with all the models and variations.
