I can assure you it’s not like that IRL. I held a pair in hand yesterday. The snakeskin parts are actually similarish to the Michigan looking pair with the printed snakeskin swoosh.

They are water proof tanks. The bottoms grip snow solid, for peeps in snow country, but mine are slick on smooth hard surfaces when they're wet.

This pair would be in my top 10 easy if the toe box was mesh. Still wear them often even tho they crease within seconds of walking around

^ Touched down earlier this week. Missed out on the OG poly AM1s, so had to try my luck with grabbing these. My true AM1 size sold out so I got the half size up, but the shoe actually feels quite narrow to where that was a good move.

Those are NOT waterproof. They're water resistant.
Nike most likely would have collab'd with Gore Tex if they wanted to go all in.
