Also do MacBooks have any problems with overheating?

Just downloaded Senuti today for that exact purpose. Great program. The 30 day free trial only allows 1000 songs transferred, but I found a keygen for it and transferred 33GB to my iMac in about 10 minutes.
By the way, suck it up and buy the external drive and back up your files regularly. You'll wish you had when something goes wrong.

Good looking out man, only reason I wanted to stay away from the extra HD is because my laptop crashes after about 10 minutes of it being turned on so I know it will be damn near impossible to get my whole library to it without the laptop crashing. Good thing I can fit my whole library on my iPhone

When you buy your new Mac bring your old HP with you so they can transfer the files that you want to the new Mac.

Windows XP stores all of your iPhone backup files in this location:

C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup

Windows Vista and Windows 7 backs up the iPhone files to here:

C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup

Obviously if your main drive is not C: then you’ll have to change that, same goes for ‘user’
in Mac OS X your iPhone files are backed up at the following location:

~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/

You're gonna need to copy the file(s) from that windows directory and paste them in the Mac OSX directory. If you haven't synced your iphone to your mac yet, that directory wont exist, so you'll need to either restore it once or make the filepath yourself

Thanks man, that makes a lot of sense. I just couldn't find the backups on my PC to save my damn life. So once I drag it over to the Mac, iTunes can detect it and it will show up when I choose to do a restore, right? That is after I sync it at least once on the Mac

The menu bar or your dock icons? The menu bar is the thing at the top of your screen. If you wanna make the font smaller, all you can do is raise your screen resolution. You can't change the size of any of the status icons. If you mean your dock, there is nothing more subtle than hiding it. Put less applications in your dock, or make use of stacks. You can change the size of the entire dock in system preferences (System Preferences>Dock>Size)

it should come properly formatted for use, but if you want to change that, use Disk Utility. Then under the erase tab, chose the format you want the drive in and erase it. When the process is done, your drive will be wiped clean in the specified format

I still need help please.

On my old PC, all my music in my iTunes was synced through my external HD. Now that I have a MacBook, I put all my music on its HD so I don't need to use the external. I copied the iTunes folder and everything, playlists show and all, but all the music in iTunes must be located. I've added my Music folder to the iTunes library, but all it does is create new copies to iTunes and all the broken files are still there and none in my playlists. Someone help!

backup all the music you have to that hard drive. delete everything from your oibrabry and your itunes music folder off the computer so you start itunes with a clean slate. go to iTunes>Preferences>Advanced, and change the itunes folder location to a filepath of your choice. Then copy the music off your external to your computer.

okay guys, i just came across this thread. I've had my MBP for almost 2 years now, and i've never really messed around with it and stuff (theme/app wise).
Can you guys recommend me some apps/themes? thanks
