343 cycles sir and no apple care. i recently just bought it from someone so yeah. they warned me bout the battery life but the price was too good to pass up
You might try Craigslist.
Applecare ftw btw
Once you're over 300 cycles it doesn't matter whether or not you have Applecare.  The battery is considered a consumable component.  Once you used up those 300 cycles you've used up the battery and Apple won't do anything about it unless you get lucky.  I think its like $80 or $90 if you give them your old battery.

New MBAs should be dropping this week, FINALLY!!!!

Rumor has it Apple is not going to release any new hardware until Lion releases, because they're so psyched about it and want it on as many machines as possible.

Wow, I just looked at my battery information

Looks like I should call Apple and get my battery replaced.

You can only extend your applecare within 365 days of purchase of your item. At that point it extends it for two more years, totalling three. If yours expired then youre out of luck

you had to 'renew' it within the year you made the purchase

If i just bought my macbook about a month ago is there any way to go about getting the free iTunes credit?

No.  If you bought it within something like the last five days you could get it.

Stupid question...but would it be better to get a macbook that already comes with the OS than having to get it from snow leopard?
Or does it not make a difference?

I dont think it makes a huge difference.  It really comes down to preference.  Do you want to wait up to six weeks (Lion releases in July but no date has been given) or do you want to pick a machine up now and install Lion yourself?  You wont lose any data or anything so the install won't be cumbersome.  Additionally you might want to figure out what machine you're getting and use that as a deciding factor.  The MacBook Pro's aren't due for a refresh till Feburary, however the Macbook Airs and the MacBooks are due for a refresh.  They'll most likely appear when Lion drops.

Really weak move by Apple. What is anyone going to do with $100 of App money? Glad I got my three free iPod touches while I could

na theyre definitely just being cheap. This promotion always served as a means to clear out stock of outgoing ipod models to make room for the coming models every September. i mean they're not obliged to do anything by any means, but if you set a standard, don't cheap out on future offerings.

Applecare ftw btw

damm you had 343, they will handed you a free battery under the applecare, how much did you get your mac for btw and which mac is it.

Also once again Applecare is boss, I was having glass speration on my macbook pro. I'll be getting it next week Wednesday though, (got my Google chromebook holding me down) but for them fix it under apple care it cost nearly $500 that's including parts and labor. Since i had applecare it was no charge. Hoepfully they can't fix it and they hand me a refurb macbook with beffier specs

giving out free iTouch's isn't a standard, it's a promotional deal given to students and by no means are they obligated to uphold it every summer.  it's a gift given out of the goodness of their marketing department

but in any case, the "no itouch refresh" is a good theory, but something else to support the reason behind the $100 giftcard is due to the more or less recent release of their app store.  Apple seems to be making a big move migrating all of their programs to the app store, and this is a great way to market it and encourage users to check it out and buy a few programs.  Once they find out how easy it is to use, they'll be back to buy from it again.

If I remember correctly, they've been taking down a lot of the software and their boxes from their stores as the programs are readily available on the app store.

I'd honestly want an iTouch because I find it extremely useful in college, but as a college student, you're thankful for what you're given, and a MBP and it's OS works wonders for my studies and efficiency.

ebay?

I've been waiting for the new Macbooks but reselling the Ipod touch was going to be a big factor of that purchase. I guess I can get rid the the gift card for around $80 or something. Hopefully the specs of the new macbooks are decent.

That clears things up.

Well looks like Sept is the end of Q4 so hopefully that is when I can load up on a new MBA and other Apple tech.

Or you pay a $49 support line option on that specific problem for use of 30 days.

I don't think Apple is being cheap. In this economy, the company is continuing to grow and gain revenue from all their sales. The reason for the $100 gift card is the focal point towards the app store. With Lion releasing soon and App Store becoming a main focus to purchase apps for your Mac, Apple wants customers to spend money in the App Store. New program with a new projected idea to incorporate the company's new focus on their products.
