about your speakers...is there a red light that's on inside the headphone slot?

Yea sometimes it is, sometimes it isnt. The computer basically is detecting some kind of digital output...

yeah, that explains the red light. a lot of people had this problem...
What you want to do is use a toothpick or something similar and stick it inside the headphone slot.
-first stick it all the way in. (pause).
-with a circular motion, slowly pull out till you hear a click.
that should turn off the red light and active your internal speakers again.
hope that helps

yup, holla if u need help with it.

basically you dl/install it, then run it and iTunes at the same time and it automatically puts the album artwork there for u.

Any good sites out there that have images for icons??? Kinda tired of the old "hundreds and stussy" icons for my desktop haha.

This is the BEST RAM for Mac computers and also the BEST price i have seen. Since the newer unibodies use DDR3, i will pass this down to you. Fry's currently has CRUCIAL 2x2gb Ram sticks for 36.99 with an option for in-store pickup..below the link i have posted a pic of my setup.

imo i wouldn't do that. i'd either try to get him to go lower on the price, or just go out and cop a brand new low-end 13" MBP. ipersonally own the 2.4ghz version of the computer you posted and LOVE it to death, but if i were in the market right now, i'd rather get the newestgeneration with better features for a couple hundred more, plus just get someone to buy it on a student discount and you get a free iPod.

then again it all depends on your financial situation. if you can afford it, get the new one, if not, that early 09 MB will suit you just fine.

well since i'm not in the market for it i don't really know what most people are asking for those machines currently. but i would say trying to get himto knock off at least $50 or even $100 would be reasonable. just tell him u can get the new low-end MBP for $1099+tax w/ a student discount, but u'd begetting a brand new system with better features and u'd know u were the first to touch it, u'd know it was never dropped/spilled on/etc.

Just cop a new 13in MBP with the free touch. Slang the touch for $200 on craiglist and it'll only be $1099 basically for a brand new MBP. Also BB offers 6months 0% interest financing on new laptops so try and cop at BB....

for the Free itouch, is it free right there in store or you have to pay for it and then get mail in rebates?

at BB you pay 1300 for the MBP and the touch No rebates. Then just flip the touch for 2 bills on craigslist.

alright thanks, i might want to save a little cash and go with the used MB , but ill weigh my options.

I have the iMac G5 isight. I've had this thing for so long, and i just want to make it last until i'm out of college. It's been running really hotlately, any ideas? The fan has been running really fast, not really sure whats making it run so hot, it has a hard time running videos smooth now also.
