Damn. Fell asleep in bed with my mac laying on top of me. It fell and chipped a small piece off the side.
It's not very noticeable but at the same time.

I know mine dented once... but I just told them that that it broke.. so they replaced..

I just got a new macbook pro. I'm trying to find vista so I can bootcamp but where do you guys buy your RAM, Apple is charging $200 for 4gb upgrade ... fthat. I might want to upgrade the HD as well, any 2.5" SATA should work right? I got the base model btw.

Just swapped out the HD in my grandmas MBP 15inch the one right before the unibody design. It voids the warranty but it was worth it..she went from a 120gb hdand 2 gigs of ram..to a 500gb Seagate HD 7200rpm and 4gigs of Ram..took me all of about an hours time but its super fast..the longest thing was cloning theHD..I dont see why apple even charges anything for it..it was so simple...

considering that you mean the "higher end one" for the 13" as the 2.53...the performance difference you would notice to the 2.26 is minimal and well not worth the price differential, those that actually take the true advantage of the 2.53 is a miniscule percentage of mbp purchasers....in the end, i suggest you just go with 2.26 and with the money you save, you could pull that towards a nice SSD
also, anyone have any problems with safari? theres been a good number of reports and ive been one of the victims, but everyone's been beachballin like crazy! i was always too lazy to make the switch to firefox but i guess this would be the time =/
Yea..imma think about it..the reason why I wanted to go with the "real" MBP is because im a Film major..and i want to do some lightediting **writing and producing is my field, but its nice to know how to edit** now that my son is doing all kinds of crazy stuff i want to start making lildvds and videos for my fam..even though from what i read on most msg boards alot of people dont take the advantadge of the Dual graphics cheap.. I went to theapple store and the 15 inch is HUGE..the screen is nice as hell but it doesnt fit in my bookbag...as for the SSD I dont see the big appeal..imma do some moreresearch..but i know if i do get the 13inch imma def do the Hd and ram upgrade out of the box

Just copped a 13 inch pro for school and was wondering what the best case available is? ive been looking at the speck satin cases but the only colors left areyellow and purple

I've been in the same boat since I scooped my MBP a month ago and last week I finally decided on the Speck Satin Case.

I've scoured macrumors.com for opinions on Speck and InCase. When it came down to it, they offer pretty much the same product, except Speck has a cut-outfor the slot loading drive as opposed to the InCase where the whole side is left open just like it is for the ports on the left side. That sealed the deal forme.

I've had it on for a week and although it adds some size and weight, I'm much more relaxed about keeping it around the house without worrying about it.

I say go for it

Head to your local BestBuy. That's where I picked mine up and all they had were black satin in stock.

incase has cases for them? never seen one, just their sleeves.

nvm, just saw it. be careful with those cases though, when dust gets trapped in them and u go to remove it it'll probably scratch that hell out of thecomputer. that's how my iphone ended up with many cases. just went without one instead.

crucial.com or osw.com for ram but I would go with crucial for the ram. Hard drive I would try eBay I noticed that they had like 500gb hard drive for like $70and it was buy-it-now so try eBay for the hard drive you can probably co e across a few good hard drives at a reasonable price

I've been on NT for so long but stopped posting back in high school. This Mac thread has brought me back, I just picked up my Pro for $1100 at theUniversity bookstore with free ipod and printer

Anyway to watch tv on a mac? I know they have coaxial to usb adapters, but I don't know if that'll work.

I have recently bought a 13" macbook pro and love it, just like some people I'm probably never going back to PC.
But my problem is whenever I try to put in a DVD-r it sounds like its trying to read it but then it just spits it out. Anyone know what I can do?
