I want to see both of them too. I know this probably doesn't apply to who Ed and them want in the game but Ive been lurking a lot of forums about MKX and characters who people want back and they seem to hate Liu Kang and Kung Lao. IDK maybe Ed reads that type of stuff and kind of grants the fans wishes......

Liu Kang is an MK staple. You see what happened with Deadly Alliance when they tried to stray away from Liu Kang. And Kung Lao is one of the more iconic MK2 characters. I would believe that everyone wants the roster from MK2 and MK3 with a little bit of shinok, quan-chi, Tanya and Bo Rai cho thrown in and the new characters for the game like Cassie, etc. but for MK to really return to the top of the fighting game mountain they need to replicate the magic that MK2 and MK3 possessed along with all the mystery and rumors that surrounded those games with the alleged hidden fatalities.

....damn the 90's was such a great decade

Yea I agree especially with the Deadly Alliance ****. And Im pretty sure those new(er) characters you mentioned will be in it (that Bo Rai Cho farting **** gotta go though

)

 I can understand if characters like Kano, Kabal, Jade, Sindel don't make it in a few games. But Scorpion, Sub Zero, Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Reptile, Sonya, and Raiden should be in all games IMO...

I use to love going to Valley View Mall back in 95 to play mk3 lol And I also use to stay up all night back in da gap trying to pass the game with all the characters on mk2 and mk3 on Super Nintendo lol Da good ole dayz

We knew that NetherRealm Studios had something up their sleeves for this weekend and now the beans have been spilled. We will be seeing the next Mortal Kombat X character reveal during Evolution this weekend. To be precise, it'll be likely just before the Injustice: Gods Among Us World Finals on Saturday that are set to kick-off at 12PM PST. Kung lao is dead so he's not going to make a comeback. Anything is up in there air for Liu Kang at this point. I rather see a bunch of new fresh characters than to see the same old repetitive characters from the old MK installments.

I got no problem with new characters. I just hope they wont be generics of MK OGs/characters of other fighting games. And overall have lame moves


I really hope no one from MKDA/MKD makes it (except Kenshi and maybe Nitara, Frost, and Bo Rai Cho). That may sound ignorant and like-uh...... selfish..........dude..... but yea... those characters were terrible

Mortal KOMBAT will be streamed at twitch.tv/streamofthehut around 5pm pst Saturday from the Evo ballroom byoc area.
 

Estimated payout for top 8 will be around..

NRS is giving away signed t- shirts and memorabilia to top 8 placers.
Mortal KOMBAT online is giving away pdp sticks.
@DanCock is giving away his stick to one lucky entrant chosen at random. We will try to get everyone to sign it including ed boon if possible.

Tournament as of now will be run 3 out of 5 unless we get too many entrants. Finals 4/7. Played on xbox 360. No character bans and random stage select.

Top 16 will be seeded based on overall tournament placements in mk9's history.
