I would say the pairing is more of the problem than just Kyrie himself. Context matters.

We all know superstar trade deadline acquisitions don’t win championships (‘08 Lakers with Pau are the last/only ones I can remember even making a Finals). People bring up them being #4 at the time of the trade but we all know the West is packed so that means nothing but at the very least, no one expected them to fall out of the play-in.
