Maaan love that he immediately came out and gave props to jrich. That man was buried on a horribly constructed, managed and coached warrior team. He had to do it all for a pisspoor franchise. Underrated shooter too. If he was on a competent team that made national broadcasts from the jump, he could’ve cracked an all star game. Glad he got to rehabilitate his career those years in phoenix

Also Lebron was the worst out of the greats last night. Like you can’t be this activist, saying you read autobiography of Malcom X, etc and than during a genocide of 2 years you come and say, heard only nice things 🤦🏽‍♂️

Even when him and klutch put out we stand with Israel post after Oct 7th, ppl moved on, but this was so goofy. Nobody is asking him to fix it, but to not acknowledge or be unaware just shows end of day differences between Billionaires and common folks, they can never relate.

And im prolly top 3 Bron fan on here too

LeBrons been a fake advocate for human rights for a while now. He only backs up activities when it’s advantageous or if there is 0 consequence.

His reply was super corny, you can tell he didn’t want any part of that question.

I honestly respected MJ much more because at least he was honest when he said “Republicans buy shoes too”.

LeBron James built a school. He's Teflon.

Yall let Jay Z grift as some voice of the voiceless, please support black enterprise which are secretly just my enterprises, and whatever this long con that he's been running has been about for like 12 years now with no push back

Nah. Nobody is Teflon. That's not how life is. You can do a bunch of good in the world and get a DUI that leads to an accident or slap your gf or in this case support one of the parties in a war, where it appears they are the aggressor to a much weaker opponent, and devastating the innocent civilians etc. there's gonna be some feelings about that. Especially if alot of the citizens of the war torn country are here and fans of his.

Plus we aren't gassing that weak *** school anymore, teachers can't even help the kids to pass math. Poor kids need to get far away from the school just because it has its name in it and go some place that actually knows and can teach Stem.

Yall always take it too far :lol: :{

To even qualify for the school’s lottery your standardized reading scores had to be in the 25th percentile. That’s not a typo.

Nearly a third of the kids in the school are receiving special education treatment.

And this is in a district where only 22% of the kids are passing the test.

That math stat also reflects post-COVID results. Parents obviously had to pull more weight during COVID, so guess which kids are more susceptible to falling behind?

The article where that headline originated from tried to say kids who qualified for the school but went elsewhere are doing better in comparison…. But then acknowledges significant data limitations used to come to that conclusion. So the premise is flawed.

The math thing was a nasty headline from a nasty article, but unfortunately I’m not surprised it was reported like that & spread like wildfire like that.

It wasnt as simple as just an article as you make it out. It was an assessment of the grades given by the Ohio department of education and workforce. And it was grading the 2024-2025 school year. And we're talking about current times. The school is progressing year to year, but my statement is solely in regard to today's education based on literacy levels and math scores, of which is actually trackable and visible. According to the report card, the students with disabilities in special ed. is 1 in 5, not a 3rd of the school. Statistics over opinions. Speaking about that is not going too far. Somebody brought up his school. I just challenged that as not being enough to make somebody bulletproof.

If I create a program to teach Spanish and everyone that attends wants to learn Spanish, and so we let everyone know we're teaching Spanish, but then we only end up making 2 out of 100 proficient enough in Spanish to pass the test...am I still getting the cover of Time for my Spanish teaching program?

im sure the families who live in the building (House Three-Thirty) by the school (dope spot) and kids who make it through the program that get full board and tuition at U Akron or Kent State appreciate it.

What Lebron doing for Akron is unbelievable whether it’s genuine or not.

2 things can be true as well, he can do amazing things for Akron and still be a Zionist/protecting his billionaire status.

We don’t know if Lebron ties are deep as Steph’s by investing in some IDF cybersecurity companies but would not be shocked, they all suckers of the same club club.

Like we said, nobody asking him to solve this and He could of just left it at he a great player but the whole i heard nice things 🤦🏽‍♂️

The poor math scores made national headlines in ‘23, at that time nearly 30% of the kids had disabilities. It may have dropped in the 2 years since then, but that wasn’t an opinion.

Regarding that image, the school specifically targets the worst performing kids from some of the most modest homes in Akron. So ranking them amongst over 3,800 schools in the entire state is disingenuous.

A relevant view would be comparing their scores to kids who qualified for the school but went elsewhere.

Your Spanish analogy strips a ton of important context from the discussion.

Have a good night 🫡

This is just an odd post all around

These dudes gotta stop acting like playing in the NBA is a 9-5 job. I’m just here to play and go home. Naw, giving back is part of the job.

Rappers and Hoopers have become hyper capitalist white dudes.

That’s an underlying story 8o

Finally got caught up over the last few days. These two post pretty much sum up what’s wrong with sports in general. wavycrocket wavycrocket had a great post a few pages back that spoke to the state of the league as a whole.

The level of access we have to everything in general is a microcosm of the world right now. It’s becoming more difficult to unplug from from the matrix at all. At times I feel we have too much access to everything. Sports used to be an escape from things, but like many have said even that has been taken over by corporate greed and capitalism in general.

Take rap for instance, it’s one of the few genres where the artist can talk down on the consumer and we still purchase it 😂. Then look at in this case basketball and we have millionaires making a ton of bread (and rightfully so) but don’t want to have to work as much. (Shorter seasons, lack of all star participation etc)

The 9-5 analogy was perfect, because at the end of the day, these guys play basketball. Most have worked their whole life to make it to the league, and now that they’ve made it, reached a different level of financial success, have started to treat the game like its burden to them because us as fans and paying customers expect them to show effort during the games. 🤬

What happened to the game I loved

Folks gotta do what they gotta do.
I'm sure Bronze weighed the consequences had he not made that endorsement.
It is what it is. (Not saying it's right) but when you are given THAT access you have to play by rules you didn't set.
I guess that's the price of fame/fortune.
