Has anyone watched Vampire Diaries?

I'm looking for a new series to get into. I watched the first episode and it was

so I wanna know if its worth watching a few more to get into it

I watched the first couple seasons this past summer with my girl. Thought I'd hate it, but it's actually pretty good.
