I usually do it at work, for example I won't charge someone to park if they look like they need help. Just yesterday there was an old man changing his tire in the garage while a bunch of people passed him and didn't offer any help. When I came back I offered to finish up for him and he was relieved, he was tired as hell and really happy I came to help. 

But doing little things like that goes a long way with some people and it feels great to help people out.

or not to help. there are a bunch of people, especially in big cities who take advantage of this type of kindness. Some woman pretends to be pregnant and homeless for change. People make up a bunch of crap just to get some change.

Then you sir need to wake up and gain some common sense....

Giving money really isn't the reason for this thread. It's more for the acts of kindness and selflessness....

Yeah, I'm always helping people out. Whether it be physically, emotionally, offering advice, giving money, etc. I don't do the money thing as much anymore though cause people take advantage big time.

I usually try and pay it forward with time... here me out...

I am an instructor in the Air Force and if there is one thing we hate more than anything is having to sit in classrooms all day so what I try to do is always try to get my students out by noon. I would much rather they go home and spend time with their family or go have lunch with their kids at school. It just means a lot to me and I always believe we should try and spend as much time with family as possible. Money and monetary things are cool but nothing can buy back time.

May not seem like a big deal to most but if I can send them home at noon, I know for sure it will brighten their day which makes me feel good.

Was at a supermarket one day. This lady had 3 kids with her, one looked like a 7 year old girl, the other was a toddler in a stroller and the last one was another small child also in the stroller.

She was using WIC checks (for those who dont know, its some kind of aid for mothers that are about to have or have a very young child).

She was also purchasing some items that werent covered by WICs and I guess the amount exceeded to what she actually had.

I saw the lady'sface and she had this worried look. I asked the cashier HOW MUCH IS SHE MISSING? Cashier said $11 and some change. All I had was $20 and all I was buying junk.

I told the cashier to take my $20, pay for her stuff and let her keep the change.

Once I gave the cashier the cash, I left my stuff and walked out the store. The lady did not know what was going on and was confused. As I was driving away, the lady comes out looking all happy and sees me and just waived.


I know it wasnt much but it felt good. I would rather much give someone money this way then to someone begging for money outside the store.

The more random acts of kindness the better. Everyone is dealing with their own struggles and problems, something as simple as a little compliment or even a genuine smile could turn someones day around. People love to feel appreciated, doesn't matter if it's coming from your best friend or a stranger.
