The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

Just cancelled my Amazon order for Watch Dogs. Hopefully it will be top notch by the time it's released in 2014

Why does the uk get all the incentives? Ps4 dropping bundles and xbone giving free games... Neither console is made there and I think it's safe to say majority of the gamers are in Asia and North America...

Sole vintage I'm confused with the euros.. Doesn't uk use pounds?
Europe is the second biggest market behind the US and Sony's best so it makes sense really. Also the reason MS is giving free games in Europe is because of their pre orders. US isn't getting any games because people are going to buy the XBone there but things may not be looking that good in Europe.

The store is called John Lewis though? :lol

So the retailer that has an ASTOUNDING 43 locations through all of Great Britain (a population of 63 million) is making that statement.

Maybe we should go find the CEO of Kmart and ask them how the PS4 will do in North America.

:lol

Yea it's a middle to high end shop here. They do offer some good warranty though :lol
If you want a quick look on how the PS4 is doing against the XBone, check Amazon UK's top seller list for the year.

Amazon product ASIN
PS4 is at number 4 behind both GTA and 360 version of FIFA 14.
XBone day 1 edition with Fifa is 35
XBone normal edition is 51.

Also there are 4 PS4 games in the top 100 and no XBone games so you can't say it's all scalpers.

Of course, this is just Amazon so it's not representative of the whole country but it gives a good idea of how things might turn out.

This. I would have bought it down the road. Might help it in my eyes if it releases later with less competition.

That said, how does a game get delayed a month before release date?

I think it would have done well released in November especially with the PS4 bundles but the game was in desperate need of more polish and I'm guessing GTA 5 may have factored in the reason. It's a new IP so it needs to make a great first impression.
Still sucks though for people who ordered the bundles.

Just crazy to see it pushed back 1 month out. Usually games are going gold at this point. They had to have made a last minute call.

Sony working with Ubisoft to manage Watch Dogs PS4 bundle pre-orders

Sony has said that it is working with Ubisoft and its retail partners while it considers how best to handle pre-orders placed for the Watch Dogs PlayStation 4 bundle.

In a statement provided to VideoGamer.com in response to Watch Dogs' delay this evening, SCEE said:

"Obviously this is [a] very recent announcement, but we will be working very closely both with Ubisoft and with our partners at retail to manage this situation."

The platform holder did not say whether it would be working with Ubisoft to replace Watch Dogs with an alternate Ubisoft title or if it would be pulling the bundle SKU altogether.

The Watch Dogs PS4 bundle was announced alongside three other official bundles earlier this month, which bundled a copy of the game in with the console.

Ubisoft announced that it had delayed Watch Dogs into spring 2014 earlier this evening.

Pushed back because people still love GTA and will see how garbage watch dogs would've been compared to GTA (Online)

"im gonna hack you!"

"No, I'm gonna hack you!"

:x

Had to get the watch dog bundle because it was the only bundle left on amazon. I hope they just send the PS4 by itself and reduce the price to $399

Someone must have found a really good bug. When I was testing, we used to try to find that one that would mess everything up. I remember finding one that pushed the date back. Felt real good that day. :lol :D

I only pre-ordered the system. There's a lot of games I want to get. Killzone, Knack, Battlefield, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, and 2K or Live.

I'll download the free PS+ games like Resogun, DriveClub, and the free-to-plays like Blacklight and Warframe to see if I like them. Then in the Spring there's Infamous, Deep Down, Destiny, Dying Light and hopefully Rime, The Order: 1886, and a new MLB: The Show for PS4.

Between Killzone shadow fall and COD ghosts, which game do you think will have the better campaign mode?

Hard to say... I find Treyarch's stories for COD to be interesting, but IW is doing Ghosts and I am not usually a fan. Modern Warfare (COD4) was their last compelling campaign.

I like the Killzone storyline, but this takes place 30 years after KZ3, so no idea where they are going with it.

Yea Ghosts isn't looking that appealing to me but I know most of my friends will probably cop it for multiplayer so I might grab a copy.

Killzone looks like it's gonna be awesome :smokin

"What's that? You guys are playing B4F multiplayer?"

"Hold on, I'm playing the campaign, let me put in the multiplayer disc."

I hope this conversation stays on 360.

Ubisoft gonna Ubisoft.

Basically, they saw how much more ambitious, fun, polished, detailed GTA V is on current gen than Watch Dogs is on Next-Gen. They knew, even though Watch Dogs is a "Next-Gen" game, it plays exactly like all of their games, following that monotonous formula. Watch Dogs didn't have a chance from it's inception because it's being made by Ubisoft. All of their games have 1 gimmick with a boring open world.

Pepperidge Farm never forgets.

Man idc Watch Dogs looks dope to me :lol
GTA V still hasn't released on PC, I haven't even had a chance to see someone play it yet

Meet The Knights Of The Order: 1886

View media item 617401

We revealed in our cover story on The Order: 1886 that developer Ready At Dawn is fusing Arthurian lore with an alternate view of 1886 London. The group we call the Knights of the Round Table is referred to in this new game as The Order – a force of dedicated individuals founded by King Arthur centuries ago to confront horrifying half-breed creatures. In the year 1886, Sir Galahad is one of the most respected knights in The Order, but he needs all the help he can get fighting the rebels and other threats lurking among London. These are three of Galahad’s most trusted allies in his battles throughout much of the game.

Name: Isabeau D’Argyll
Alias: Lady Igraine

If you’ve read tales about King Arthur, you may remember his mother was named Lady Igraine. In The Order: 1886, Lady Igraine is a youthful-looking warrior named Isabeau D’Argyll. She and Galahad have a close but guarded relationship which started with her as his knight in training. Over the years the two become fond of one another, though their allegiance to The Order forbids them from ever acting on any underlying feelings. Isabeau’s character extends beyond her relationship with Galahad, however. She is strong-willed, skilled in combat, and fiercely loyal to The Order. “Isabeau is every bit the knight that Galahad is,” says Ru Weerasuriya, creative director on The Order: 1886. “There’s this kind of rivalry between them.”

Name: Sebastian Malory
Alias: Sir Percival

In Ready At Dawn’s story, the title of Sir Percival belongs to a man named Sebastian Malory. Enthusiasts of Arthurian lore may recall that Sir Thomas Malory is the 15th century author of the original Le Morte d’Arthur. In The Order, the gray-bearded Malory is the most seasoned warrior in Galahad’s squad. Malory acts as a trustworthy mentor to Galahad and personifies The Order’s noble agenda to protect the people of London. Malory and Galahad share joint tempered loyalty to The Order, and are close friends because of it.

Name: Marquis de Lafayette
Alias: Pending

Lafayette is The Order’s newest knight-in-training, but he’s no green recruit. The famed Marquis de Lafayette is an actual historic figure who made his name fighting in both the French and American Revolutions. The Order contacts Lafayette and opens his eyes to the larger scale conflict the organization was formed to fight. His strategic expertise and knowledge of the battlefield makes him an invaluable addition to Galahad’s squad, even if he hasn’t earned his knightly name yet. This apprentice has a brash, whimsical sense of humor that lightens the squad’s oftentimes grim demeanor.

The guy not shown is Sir Galahad, the main character. There will be more about him in the future.

Wow just heard that's big news getting 2k now.

Not sure if posted
If you told me this was Kingdom Hearts 2, I would've believed you. KH was always known for raising the bar when it comes to production values...what the hell happened? KH 1 was one of my favorite games of all time but this.... This looks really bad.

That's what I'm hoping as well. I don't want Assassin's Creed. Hell, now I don't know what release date game I even want now. I won't be opening my PS4 until damn near Christmas because of school and work, but I was hoping to have something to play on December 23rd after my last exam.
