does the race card truly exist as something that minorities are constantly extolling and jumping to conclusions, or is it an invention of white people to diffuse and dismiss any and all claims of racism? 

I guess what I'm asking is who holds the racecard? The accuser or the accused?

It goes both ways. Some people pull it out for no reason, but more often that not, it's for a valid reason.

The close minded who believes that life in this country is all good and pure will always accuse someone of "pulling the race card". This person does not hold the race card. His goal is to take it from the card holder.

Some people just refuse to see the racial element in things, they are the ones who use the phrase "race card."
