Hey_

Thanks for that.

Josh writes some REALLY good stuff too, that lisp at times though...

Alysia, I had a mean crush on her during the series.

Her poem on the HBO site leads me to believe she was a j/o at some point.

Damn shame.

Josh is ridiculously talented. We interned at the same company last summer and the HBO crew would be there filming him during the day.

If you feel like that then I seriously suggest that you read The Autobiography of Malcolm X before making that statement again. One of the thingsthat I have always admired about Malcolm is that towards the end of his life when he realized that alot of what he believed about white people previously waswrong, then he stood up and said he was wrong. After his pilgrimage to Mecca, he realized that he was wrong and that trip definitely changed his perspective onthings. It takes a real/strong individual to be able to admit when you are wrong like he did.

It's a shame that when Malcolm and MLK finally began to actually have dialogue between the two of them, they both were murdered. It blows my mind to thinkabout how different things would've been if they had talked to each other during the earlier days of the civil rights movement.

Look at what he did towards the end of his life before you make that conclusion. He definitely changed.
ditto, read up before your start making random quotes. He actually changed, and ironically was killed by his own people b/c of it. sad.

As far that poet goes, heard it all before, do something about it. BLACK ICE > everyone

All that inflection does nothing for what u sayin - in fact, it makes it harder to hear what the hell u sayin. If u spittin something deep it's gonna befelt even if u delivering it at a normal speaking tone. I can only mess with Def Poetry; them young kats too emotional for me

The emotion adds A LOT to a poem. It sold it for me

I can feel it, as cheesy as it sounds.

- but that just it though, its not different. not when each and every one of them have the exact same flow.

- the dude above (Black Ice) pulls it off with out all the over the top heavy breathing and mannerisms.

- thing is we have learned to appreciate something different years ago when this type of style was birthed. these young cats need to learn how to switch it up.
