I see what he means. The Shield didn't have the freedom that HBO, Showtime allows. The writers/creator did what they could on FX.

The Shield > The Wire > SOA

I've watched for eps. of this show. I wasn't feeling it so I watched other shows. Now that I'm done with those other shows(the wire, homeland,etc) The Shield is the next tv series that I'll dive into.

Its a great show but I'll never cosign it being better than The Wire. Its preference at the end of the day.
