I think america in general knows very little about Africa.
I don't think most people even know what africa looks like besides, Safari's and Aids, and KONY.

I have decided to educate people on whatAfricalooks like.

the video is pretty funny. Good video!

But yeah, I agree that a lot of people don't know that side.
It's nice that it's getting more exposure now too.
However, there still are places in Africa that need help.
Maybe that's why many people don't see this side since it overshadows it.

I have over 20 African friends... Nigerians,Zimbabwe,Burkina Faso etc..all of them are middle class-rich. Yeah, not all of Africa is poor.

Dude narrating is type aannoying. Couldn't get pass 2 minutes.

Also, why would news network show developed parts of Africa. Nobody cares about people doing well over there. It's the impoverished over there that get all the attention because they need help.

pretty sure they do it to bring awareness to the parts that need it since the good parts seem to be well off to an extent.

like how mexico isn't all drug cartels and beheadings.

Isn't that just the polar opposite of what the media shows though? It looks like you were touring mansions. Those houses you showed were expensive/large even by American standards. Is that supposed to be 'middle class' Africa or what? Cause if that's middle class I'm moving there immediately.

People would be so confused if I posted pics of my pops crib in Nigeria

I always try to help people understand that there's a lot of poverty in Africa but there's poverty everywhere. Even right here in America. The difference is in America we hide our poverty. In Africa it's blasted all over media outlets. No one every shows the other side. The story of poverty in Africa has become the entire book instead of one chapter.

I saw a documentary a few years about people from America that were lower - middle class moving to South Africa and being able to live an upper class lifestyle with a nice sized house and stuff b/c of the price of living there

But in some ways this is counterproductive. You want to help the poor but you scare people away from the continent by making it seem as if there's nothing but poverty and wild animals. Everyone wants to help from afar by sending a dollar. Africa is the last frontier. People should be moving there in droves and building a bigger better Africa. China is already ahead of the curve as usual. Everyone else is too scared.

So much truth in that. Let there be a gameday or some other special event/attraction in or near Downtown Houston...all the homeless people
that would normally be camping out in certain areas get swept up by the police.

*gasps*
