Why blame tesla about the crash though.

The driver was watching a movie instead of paying attention to the road.

Furthermore, tesla states the autopilot software is only in beta mode so drivers are still to take caution and pay attention and not rely on autopilot 100%

because we live in the USA. Nobody is responsible for their own actions anymore. It's always someone else's fault when we ourselves screw up.

So true

I can see why tesla is getting the backlash because they built the car and software and what not

But let's be serious, this isn't exactly their fault.

point blank Telsa is run by idiots having Consumers Beta Test their damn cars, and consumers are idiots for signing up for it.

All involved parties are dumb at the end of the day.

Would you fly in an Airplane that is running Beta software that controls how the plane flies?

Planes don't run "beta" software and still have autopilot failures resulting in deaths yearly. We've been running trains since the 1800's and every single year multiple trains collide because the track software malfunctioned and they collide.

Technology isn't fool proof. There is no such thing as a 100% success rate with anything technology related, it all fails at some point for one reason or another.

Failure is a feature with anything new.
They'll work the kinks out. It's funny how we lose our minds over a death from a new invention. Dudes die in cars everyday B.

Does this look safe to you guys?
This is what spawned the modern airplane.

Self driving cars are the future. Auto deaths will drastically get cut down as they become a regular feature.

lol wut

It states on their website and on the car's screen that the software for auto pilot is a beta software. You can drive the car normally without it. The only dumb party involved is that one guy and everyone else who thinks you can drive the car without paying attention, such as that guy who decided it was a smart idea to watch Harry Potter on a portable DVD player instead of paying attention to the road.

The Purpose of "Beta" Software is to test.

Why would you put Beta Software in a Production vehicle? Not even on some only select owners can utilize this for testing purposes?

Like I said all parties involved are dumb.

You're right. No one can comprehend what you're saying.

People opted in to use a feature that was in beta. They weren't forced to do it and sadly one of them died.

However, people die every day from the failure of various non beta software so having the software not be in production is still not going to prevent deaths.

Mechanical parts fail. Software fails. Nothing is 100% fool proof. It doesn't mean we should stop innovating and iterating on technology.

Exactly.

You can consider all these people trying out the auto pilot to be early adopters using the product before the early or late majority get their hands on it.

Cousin bout to grab a CPO Model S P85 within the next year or two. I hope to get one soon after, hoping that the S depreciates a little when the 3 comes out.

Weird. Not sure how much I like that. The HUD better be bright and clear and easy to see at any angle.

Really wish the touch screen was built into the dash also.

it is their budget model but I do like the very clean interior, just nice and simple
