@Colombia sorry to hear that brother. Like you said, you and your aunt did your best. At the end of the day its still up to the individual to make changes no matter what others do.

So on a lighter note.....

I've been in the gym hard the past 6 weeks or so.  Getting right for the summer or whatever, but my main goal is to get back dunking on the court.

So I've been doing a lot of squats, deadlifts, lunges.....a really leg extensive workout program the past month or so.

The problem is....I still cant dunk yet but my @ss and thighs are huge now.  Like, hard to get into some of my pants huge.

This girl Im talking to, every other time she see me she talking about my @ss.....I dont even like tucking my shirts in anymore smh...

I feel like this is law of attraction, Ive been looking at so much booty I end up growing one myself

But about dunking, you do any plyometrics? Like explosive exercises? I mean you need to have strong legs but i believe its the fast twitch muscles and explosiveness that helps with dunking.
 
I do a few plyos but my knees no likey

So basically the rule of thumb is if you can squat 1.5x your body weight you can dunk.

Last year I was maxing out every time I did squats, and in about a month I was dunking easily.

This time I think Im trying too hard...the squats plus the deadlifts and lunges.  And I dont hoop as much as before, that may play a part lol
 
I can touch the rim with my fingers and have a 30 inch vertical but can't squat 2 plates and cant do a singleleg bodyweight squat. Got very weak glutes as well. Hopefully if I can fix my inactive glutes and squat actively, I can dunk and also lose the knee pain

1.5x BW squat you can dunk? Lol naw thats not true at all. Im about 225 (223 to be exact) and just hit 405 yesterday and ive never dunked in my life lol. I should be posterizing 7foot frenchmen if thats the case

I was thinking about this the other day.
I been doing stairs and playing soccer for YEARS.
I got nice thigh muscle but I got like 0 butt lol like 0, nada, hank hill status.

Do you play ball tho?  I know a lot of workout heads that play for cardio and they can dunk.  Everybody is different tho, Im sure if you committed to it you could be dunking soon

Yeah if you squat properly, it can ease the pressure from you quads and knees to you glutes and to a lesser extent hamstrings.  Deadlifts help a lot too

Do you play ball tho?  I know a lot of workout heads that play for cardio and they can dunk.  Everybody is different tho, Im sure if you committed to it you could be dunking soon

Not really. Maybe once in a while but not on a regular basis. Even when i used to play a lot Ive never been able to dunk. Mans have no hops lol
