This. Man knows!!! People gotta die of something back in the days how you think they lived pass 100 years ?? No bs in there food or water

My friend's family owns a three apartment building in a gentrifying neighborhood in Bushwick. They've been owners of that building since 1989.

My friends family lives on the first floor and they let extended family live in the other two floors rent free.

So I said the neighborhood has been gentrifying right? They been getting offers for their building as a result. The latest offer was 3 million. They turned it down.

Would you have taken that offer? I told him today I would've jumped on that offer lol

Their plan right now is to keep the building and to rent the top two floors when extended family moves out
What did they pay for it and what is their current financial situation?

I missed out on some monumental **** on my TL. Somebody look out for ya boy. Every other tweet is "wreck her" :(

It's a little unclear but my friend makes it sound like they didn't pay anything for the building

If I'm understanding right, the previous owner of the building was friends with my friend's dad and when he passed away he left the building to the dad in his will

Their financial situation seems great. As in they have no debts. Kids are out of school. They're not paying mortgage. The family don't work. They been retired. They don't seem to worry about money lol

Must be some great relatives to let them live rent-free. If it was me, I'd kick out everyone to remodel the place and hope the market value continues to go up.

If they don't need to worry about money, then they don't need to sell.
Since they inherited the building from a family member maybe that's another reason why they won't let go. You just can't be selling off your family legacy just cause someone is offering you money.

You add more problems to yourself with the money you try to get and at the same time your family legacy becomes diminished because you wanted money.

That's what I'd do too. Lmao. I told this to my friend and he looked at me like I had three heads.

Different mentality I guess.

The market value is going to go up. The neighborhood is not done gentrifying.

Is it one of those buildings that have stores on the bottom level?

Nah it's completely residential. Not a very big building. Three floors. An apartment for each floor and a basement.

I think what's going to happen is that all the apartment buildings on the block are going to be bought up first. My friend's parents are going to hold out until the offer gets large enough that they can't ignore it.

Took a late nap at 645 and was ready to sleep till tomorrow, but the wife woke me up to eat dinner. Smh.

I have good friend who told his dad to sell his apartment building in his home country Bangladesh. He said his dad wasn't making any money off it but he let the tenants stay there cause he has a heart of gold. They sold the building and collected the money. My friend took his portion of almost 20k and put it in a oil a stock he lost all of it as well as the portion his dad had when he try to double up on the stock options.

No money, no property.
At least he got married to a rich wife, but Bangladesh rich not American rich.

Tear it down and use a 3d printer to print a skyscraper when the technology is readily available. :pimp:
