the thread about nothing...

Money makes things so sticky and awkward. I hate that. It puts you in a tough spot when someone close asks for money and you don't think they'll pay it back, or if you really don't have much and they think you're just being stingy.
That's why you never let people know how much money you have. Leave them in the dark. Quiet money is the best money.

Last night my iPhone screen stopped responding. Did hard reset all that same issue. I think the digitizer is dead. So anyway, the phone turns on but I literally can’t get into it.

I have daily alarms set for work so I don’t miss stuff. I can only snooze the alarms so I have multiple alarms going off every other minute. This is torture :lol. Luckily my Apple Store appointment is at 1pm.

My philosophy(for lack of a better word) is usually that I'm always willing to help, but I look at it as more of a test. If you can hold your end of the deal, I guess in a sense builds "trust" for me and I'll be willing to help again. But otherwise, it just shows me you can't be counted on.

I've been burned plenty of times, but usually the ones who always repay the favor is close friends and family.

my rules nowadays are First, Never Loan Money but Give it as a gift instead. it will save you from disappointment. the 2nd rule is, if you are going to loan money, always ask for a good worth collateral. it will save you from disappointment as well.

Oh that reminds me...the worst is when someone is asking for money and if you put up any sort of resistance, they bring up that you spend money on something that is considered a "waste" or unimportant. How is someone else telling you how to spend your own money properly? If someone in your circle thinks they are entitled that way, cut them off immediately.

I wish a mf would. Not exactly the same but similarly, I remember my ex tried to pull some passive **** like that after she went with me to cop a couple pairs of sneakers. We had been together for a while and had talked about marriage at some point, I guess she thought me buying sneakers was stalling the process of getting her a ring. I damn near cussed her out.

I loaned a friend some money about 10+ years ago as he was having financial issues and needed some assistance paying legal fees. So long story short he tells me he'll get me back in a couple months, 2.5 months go by and he still doesn't have the money to pay me back. Then about 4 months go by and I can't contact him. Come to find out he'd sold his phone to a family member and about 6 months later he eventually gets back to me on FB messenger saying he has the dough.

Yea never again am I going to loan out money, I'm sure others here have gone through much worse experiences but having to deal with excuses from a close friend/family member just isn't worth it.

He hit you back up on fb, sooooooooo did you ever get your money back?

Paid $155 for registration and $58 for smog (the place charge $50 for the labor, it took them about 5 minutes to get it done, damn easy money for them) on my 2006 Honda.
How much y'all pay (registration) for those that have 2020+ cars or expensive cars? I'm in Cali btw surely it'll keep going up yearly

Given you're from Cali, that's actually not so bad compared to what some other Cali folks pay in Post Your Car thread. Here in NYC I pay $189.50 for registration on my Maxima & $10 for annual state inspection-safety only(would've been $37 for regular inspection that requires emission & safety but once a car is 25 years old & up you no longer need to do an emissions inspection on it in NY state) for my Challenger I pay $213.50 for registration & $37 for annual state inspection. Both my registration renewal fees would be about $60 less but because I have custom license plates on both my cars I pay what I pay.
