the thread about nothing...

Got hit with shingles again :smh:
Thankfully it's not the extremely annoying and painful version this time. Of course it's painful but it's surprisingly tolerable. Exact same spot where I had it a few years ago.
The real kicker this time is extreme tiredness. I'm out here sipping 2 monster cans a day, sleeping a solid 8 hours and can barely keep my eyes open when looking at my laptop or tv for more than 20 minutes. Without a boat load of caffeine it was damn near impossible to focus on anything for any amount of time. :smh:
It's been a week of this bs and still hasn't gotten any better.

Did my wife's front brakes Thursday. Decided to do mine today. Tightening the last bolt for the caliper bracket and the damn bolt snaps.

Thankfully it's in stock at autozone.
How did you get the broken bolt out?

I didn't. Definitely got lucky.

The bolt was in the caliper guide pin. The pin slides out of the housing. Just had to get a new pin set.

All that said, I did have a rotor set screw that was stripped to ****. I bought a set of easy outs in preparation of removing it from the rotor. Once again, I got lucky in that I was able to pound a flat head into the head, get enough bite, and back the screw out. Purchased new set of set screws. Also a new set of tire bolts (my tire takes a bolt, not just the nut) since my passenger side bolts were stripped.

Side note to this side note...I think I posted in here that I did my front brakes after doing my wife's. My **** had been squeaking for a while. So get done, and I'm still ******* squeaking. I park the car and start rocking it and I realize the squeak is coming from the rears...and to make it worse? Searched my email and found out I actually did my front brake pads like 18 months ago. When i got the old pads out, I definitely thought to myself "there sure is a lot of material left here" but went ahead and changed them anyway. Now it all makes sense.

Anywho...Glad I didn't have to bother with the easy outs. I don't have a drill with enough power to drill a hole into a bolt. Just an impact wrench and no impact pre-drill bits.

It should subside soon but you have to take some extra supplements considering your condition. Hoping for your speedy recovery fam.

this happened to me at work. hurt like hell but never did some sissy screaming.

Worst I’ve done was let a huge metal door in a refrigerated whs close on my thumb. It didn’t shut, just bounced off my thumb. Still hurt like hell.
